kittymccat Posted May 1, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2006 Just got back from Mille yesterday (sigh). It was wonderful with the best crew I have cruised with (4th cruise 1-Celebrity (Summit) and 2 - HAL). About the sewer smells - we were on 9 aft and never smelled anything. Once on the glass elevators I smelled a brief sewer odor on deck 8 when the doors opened but none when I got off on 9. Yesterday there was a faint smell in the casino as we headed for the theater. For us, that was it for the entire week. If anyone is on Mille and has Virginia for a room attendent you are very lucky. She is wonderful - both as a person and an attendent. She and Hector will take good care of you with a smile and a very caring manner. Please tell her that Cathy from 9193 send her best. I'd be happy to answer any questions if anyone has any. I'd go back on the ship tomorrow if I could!!! Cathy
katiebeth Posted May 1, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 1, 2006 Dear Kittymccat, Welcome home and thanks for posting. You must be going through post-cruise withdrawal about now. I always think of the Celebrity commerical when we return from a cruise where the gentleman has just returned from his Celebrity cruise and he refers to his current circumstance as a "temporary exile". I think we can all relate. I have been in "exile" now for almost 11 months and can't wait for our June 7 cruise on the Millennium. So glad you enjoyed your cruise. It sounds like everything is in good shape on the Millennium. I am also happy to hear that you thought the crew was excellent. We have always had outstanding service on our Celebrity cruises and its good to know things haven't changed. By the way, the only cure for post-cruise withdrawal is to book another cruise!! cmj Posted May 1, 2006 #3 Share Posted May 1, 2006 Do you know the name of the party band currently on the Millennium? Were they playing every night? Where? And what about the music duo, that usually play before dinner in the Rendez-vous lounge? And finally, can you name us some of the folks in charge of the ship? Captain? Cruise Director? ...? Thanks. phbr Posted May 1, 2006 #4 Share Posted May 1, 2006 The pool band (also Cosmos and elsewhere) is Centrefold.I think they are from the Phillippines. They are good, versatile and play a few different styles. The Captain is Greek, as are most of the officers. Captain Michael Karat zas. Cruise director is an Australian, Simon Weir. His wife is also one of the Celebrity Dancers. On the last day the daily 'Celebrity Today'gave a breakdown of some of the supplies needed for a 7 night cruise. These include. 9250 ponds of beef 2500 pounds of lamb 3000 pounds of chicken 2500 pounds of turkey 26000 pounds of vegetables 2600 bottles of wine 150 bottles of champagne 120 bottles of gin 9900 bottles/cans of beer 896 dozen eggs 2700 gallons of milk etc etc. Greedy lot aren't we ????? RonnieS Posted May 1, 2006 #5 Share Posted May 1, 2006 We love that "temporary exile" commercial. We try to explain it to our friends, but they don't get it. You have to know cruising. Oh dear how does the other half live.:)

kittymccat Posted May 2, 2006 Author #9 Share Posted May 2, 2006 Itsanita, Sorry it took a while to get back to you - unpacking etc. You asked about being in the aft of the ship. I found the area to be very quiet. I liked that we were able to go up a flight and be right in the cafe area. I spoke to a person who was in one of the aft cabins (we were on the port side aft) who said the only problem they had was that passengers on the outside of the cafe would drop ciggerette ashes onto their verandah but they still really liked the location and the cabin.
