Can we change from Traditional Dining to Anytime Dining if we totally cannot .....

stand the people at the assigned table. We have only had this happen once and we just stuck with it and went to dinner with them 3 night out of 5. It sucked and would have been alot better if there was a choice between Traditional dining or Anytime dining. I do know we can still do the buffet but who wants to do that the entire trip.

Thanks in advance.

Our last cruise, we fell in love with all three other couples at our table. We were first seated and last leaving the dining room. We were also a little loud with the laughter but everyone joined in with our table, yes, even the table around us listened in on the storytelling. We are both 43, one set of tablemates was 48 woman with her 71 year old dad, another set were brothers in law who's wives had died, these guys were 69 and 72 and the last couple had been married over 55 years and were 81 and 84. I loved listening to their tales. Tablemates can definitely make a cruise. We still stay in touch with the two "younger" couples, the older couple did not have email and did not want it.

We switched from traditional late seating to anytime dining on our cruise because our family of 14 was not seated together due to a TA mixup (we weren't coded as a group.) My mother made a reservation at one of the anytime dining rooms and then renewed it each night. It worked out great!

Maybe this is too obvious, but there is no reason to go to Anytime Dining if you really enjoy traditional but not your tablemates. Just ask to be moved to a different table.
Exactly. You don't have to change to a different dining room -- just ask the Maitre D' to be moved to another table. Much less drastic. People shift all the time.

Certainly you can stick with traditional dining and switch tables by checking with the maitre d'.

If you happen to run into any of the passengers that you 'ditched' and they ask where you went, just tell them that you ran into some acquaintances and wanted to dine with them instead. That way, nobody's feelings get hurt.

Cruises are too short and (for me) too infrequent to not enjoy every last minute.

Twinsmomct, No problem. Just inform your waiter not to expect you on the night that you be away so he won't be waiting for you

Ken.

And it is also a courtesy to your table mates.

We had a group of 3 women, grandmother, mother and daughter that showed up just a couple of time for traditional sitting on a 7 day cruise.

We never knew whether they would be there......do you wait to order or go ahead and order.......and your waiter won't know whether to wait or take the orders.
