We're interested in the Mercury repositioning cruise at the end of the 2007-2008 season--from Auckland to Honolulu and onward to the U.S. I guess it will be a 2 B 2. Any information available on that trip.

We're also awaiting the information from Princess (Sapphire) and will decide between the 2. We'll be celebrating our 50th Anniversary at the time and want to cruise New Zealand-Australia-Tahiti-Bora Bora, (etc)-Hawaii-and the cruise back to the U.S.

We are also very interested in seeing the itinerary and pricing. We heard that they were considering doing Australia, but when the other schedule came out, it was not listed. Glad to see we will have a choice, Princess or Celebrity. We are diamond on RCCL, so we also will receive the same on Celebrity, so that is a plus for them. Never used Princess, but have only heard good things about the line, so we are open to the best itinerary and cost.

We also are interested in Celebrity going to Australia, but it appears no one has noticed that they said 40 new ports in this new schedule.

The to Australia & back is about 12/14 new ports which is about 35% of the new ports of call.

So we have become interested in the others also, because for us to take the Australia cruises we are looking at 24 hour flights and $$$$ airplane fares from the East coast. (The airfare is more than the cruise price based on other cruise lines) :(

The cost can be an obstacle, but please don't let the length of the flight color your thinking. We have done NZ/AUS from the East Coast twice in the last three years and it is absolutely spectacular. Unlike any other cruising we have done, and we have been fortunate enough to do a lot. There are ways of dealing with the flights, many of which we have learned on these boards. The reality is once the trip is over and you are back home it's the memories of what you have seen and the people you have met that will stand out in your mind, not the vague unpleasantness of the long flight. If you can handle the expense, go for it!!!

8 FRI 11/30/07 PAPEETE, TAHITI FREN 12:00A 6:00P TENDER

That's weird. We sailed Polynesia on Tahitian Princess last year. Papeete and Moorea are only 10 miles apart, it took Tahitian Princess only 1 hour to sail from Papeete to Moorea. We left at 6 am and arrived at 7 am... I wonder what Mercury will be doing these 13 (!) hours. Also, there is a huge cruise port with 4 docks in Papeete, but Moorea is definately a tender port. Maybe they mixed things up.

Sailing around in a circle, that's what she'll be doing!

Joray,

They did not say they would have 40 new ports in the South Pacific, they were including Austrailia and NZ.

"A total of nearly 40 new ports of call have been added to Celebrity's deployment lineup for 2007, including those in Australia and New Zealand."

Hi

Does anyone know when the itineraries and pricing will be available on Celebrity's website?

Bev

Good question Bev. They were not available as of 6:45 AM PST. My guess is you should call your TA or Celebrity directly now if you are looking to reserve a good cabin on any of the sailings. My experience is that the website is usualy 2-3 days behind on updates.

Pat
