Anyone Left Something Onboard & Get It Back?

I left my makeup case onboard Paradise May 5 & called Carnival to put in a lost & found report. Just wondering if anyone has gotten something back that they left onboard or if you know what my chances would be. Tha cabin steward cleaning the room the last day wasn't ours - he was leaving that day - so she had no incentive to get it back to me since no gratuity.

We had left a cell phone labeled with another phone number in our cabin after we debarked. Our cabin steward on the Pride ( Rudie ), called us & told us. He was nice enough & mailed it back to us in Chicago ( Rudie was soooo nice )

There was a thread about someone that left jewelry in the safe, was complaining how useless Carnival Cust Svc was and ripping on them - will never sail Carnival again if they were the last cruise company on earth, even though it was their fault they did not want to take blame - anger is anger.

Anyway they got it back and came back on-line and apologized and thanked Carnvial - they loved Carnival would sail again soon blah, blah, blah...

So it is possible...

When my DH and I sailed on the Pride in Feb. we left a piece of our luggage and did not realize it until Monday afternoon when we were home and I started to unpack. I was so upset. I called Carnival right away. When I called they did not have the info from the port yet what was found. But was reassured that all matters would be taken to try and find the suit case. I knew this was our fault and really did not expect to get the bag back. Called the next day and it had been shipped out of the Port of Long Beach Monday morning. I had the bag back by Thursday of that week. We were lucky.

Can't say we ever left anything on board. But we accidently left our kids marriage certificate at the immagration desk in L.A.(was carring it so it would not get bent, and set it down to show my passport)

They gave it back to Carnival and someone thoughtfully mailed it to us:)

One of our roll call members from our March cruise on the Miracle left behind a photo album that had sentimental value. She found a roll call for a very near future cruise (probably the one that left a week after our cruise returned) and asked someone to check with her cabin steward. I'm not sure exactly how the story went but sure enough, it had been found and turned in to the pursers desk and it was still there so this person picked it up and mailed it back to the person who lost it. At least, I think that's how it went. Anyway, she got her photo album back and was very happy. You could try the same thing. Just see if you can find some friendly people on a roll call for a cruise in the near future. It might take a few cruises for the missing items to be removed from the ship.

first cruise. Being our first, we had bought an overabundance of souvenirs that we did not even notice we were missing a bag when we got home. About a month later, I got a call from the greyhound bus station, saying I had a package from Miami. Still didn't register with me until I went to pick it up and found our bag of souvenirs which the cruise line had sent to us.

2Ports Jr. left his cell phone (don't start) on the Holiday (we debarked 4/29). We called Carnival as soon as we got back to Gulfport. They were very nice, took our info, gave us a report #, and said call back in a week or 2 if we don't hear anything - the Port of Mobile is only open when the Holiday is in, so if he left it there it would be a week or more before they passed it on to CCL. Well, I was going to give them a call today, when a DHL truck pulled into the drive with a bright yellow package - inside was the wayward phone!! And a nice note saying "Here's your missing property, Thanks for sailing w/ Carnival". AND Carnival paid the shipping!($3.43). Our Holiday holiday just got even more perfect. I was going to start a new thread about this, but here's a perfectly good one just laying around.:D

Thanks, Carnival! See you again!

Our Sony digital mini cam was left by my wife accidentally on the Glory three weeks ago. So far it hasn't been returned. I will be more than happy to send the battery charger to the person that found it if they happen to read this board and will leave their name and address. It won't be any good to them once the battery goes dead without the charger. LOL :) :) :)

Months after a cruise we got a call from Continental that they found a pocketbook belonging to my daughter. Traced us through a sign and sail receipt inside. They sent it by plane to Cleveland, Cleveland called us, told us it was in. Told us to just pull up to the curb, gave us a # to call, and someone would run it out to us!! Imagine my DDs humiliation when all that was inside was feminine  products!!!

I didn't lose anything..............I found something.

Seems the folks before us had pulled out clothes for their infant son the night before debarkation and couldn't find them the next morning and had been blistering the Cabin Steward about taking them..........well the Steward was in our cabin introducing himself to us and when I opend the cabinet the safe was in.............lo and behold..........here was the outfit (this is how I know the story about the parents attitude towards the steward) since we were early on the ship (handicap pre-boarding for my Mom) he grabbed them and dashed out to the gangway to have someone find the family to return them to them.............guess they had left the ship fairly recently.

So another lesson..............regardless of using the safe for jewelry or other stuff...............check it also before you leave the ship..........never know what uyou might have stashed in it for the next morning!

We were on the Verandah deck of the Paradise about two years ago, so were very early in the disembarkation process. As we approached the customs official, my DW suddenly grabbed at her neck and told me in a panicked voice "I left my necklace in the cabin!" We stepped back through the line and found a Carnival employee at the end of the gangway. I explained the problem, and was told "Have your wife stay here, and come with me." I was passed to another gentleman, who escorted me onto the ship, up to the cabin, we recovered the necklace, returned down to customs. As we re-entered the line (after numerous thanks), he said "Oh, we messed up. Your wife should have been able to hold your place in the line for customs." A very minor problem, in my mind, but he was very appoligetic (sp) about the whole thing.

I sent an e-mail to Carnival thanking them for the courtesy and quick action, but never heard anything of it.

Next cruise (this Sept on the Conquest), I'll do a more careful sweep of the cabin before we leave.

I left a $400.00 Sony Digital camera in top left drawer on the Conquest back in Jan 2005. I missed it about an hour after leaving the ship. I forgot to get it out of the drawer when I packed. I called Carnival and was asigned a lost and found item number. I did get a call back from them about a month later and they stated it was never found. It was a dumb mistake on my part. I too have the charger cord and the download cable, I will send it to who ever has the Camera. I also lost over 200 vacation pictures that were left on it.

I remember reading this thread..and I was so thrilled when her photo album was found. That was so kind of the CC member to go to that trouble. Love to hear stories about great people.

We thought we left two rolls of film in our cabin a few years ago. The rolls had 16th birthday pictures on them, and I was crushed. I called Carnival, but they said the film wasn't turned in. I was disappointed, and figured that they just didn't care about such small items. On the positive side, I became really compulsive about checking cabin drawers on our subsequent cruises.

A few months ago one of our kids was on a school trip, and discovered the film under the lining in the suitcase!! I apologise to Carnival for every whiny secret thought I had about that film...and I really do believe that Carnival does its best for passengers, which is why we're going on our 7th cruise with them this month!

About a week after we got back from our Conquest cruise, we received an envelope from Carnival. It turned out to be my son's ID card! He had no idea it was missing! We told him he was lucky that it got returned, and if he could go a week without even knowing it was missing, he really needed to keep better track of things. Teenagers...

Now on the Disney cruise we took, my cell phone and a tennis bracelet I won in a raffle went missing on the morning of disembarkation. We tore the stateroom apart, too. After a few calls to Disney, we got nothing. Thank goodness for cell phone insurance. The bracelet I wasn't so sad about. I'm one of those weird gals who isn't into diamonds. LOL! When I told my Mom about it, she was more upset about the dang bracelet!

I left a coinpurse with some cash and travelers checks in the casino. I thought it was long gone. About two weeks after we returned home I received an envelope from carnival with may coin purse containing my travelers checks sans cash.

My fiance and I left a pair of his shorts and two shirts on the ship yesterday! I just contacted Carnival customer service, so hopefully we'll get something back! I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It was both of our faults but I feel really bad because he asked me if I checked all the drawers and I thought I had! I missed one :(
