Looking for some advice on any helpful advice regarding booking an excursion to Prudhoe Bay? Either booked on your own or by the cruise line? Any help or advice regarding weather, excursions, etc.? Thanks

We went with Northern Alaska once (2003) and then booked everything the following year (2004) on our own, including a flight to ANWR.

Price was cheaper booking everything on our own, but it was a lot of work. I had to get clearance from BP for a private tour, had to find the charter to

ANWR. Booking the hotel in Prudhoe and Coldfoot was easy. Transport to and from Prudhoe was somewhat of a problem (we actually drove an old BP van from Prudhoe to an Anchorage car dealer thanks to a friend who works for BP).

If you don't do logisitics planning for a living (as I do) and don't have a lot of connections, let Northern Alaska handle it for you. IMHO, it was a superior experience, even though it cost more money. Northern Alaska could not arrange the trip to ANWR.
