Gogie Posted June 22, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 22, 2006 We'll be in Bangkok the beginning of April. Does anyone know how hot it usually is???Thanks :) :) :) The average high temperature in Bangkok in March is 92F and in April is 94F. The average low termperature is 78F (March) and 80F (April). Check this thread out http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=322599 for a discussion of the best time of year to visit Asia. I've posted a reference for a website with world-wide weather information in that thread.

Desert Cruisers Posted June 22, 2006 #4 Share Posted June 22, 2006 We've been to Bangkok several times. It is always hot and humid no matter when you go. Some months are rainier than others. Check out monthly averages at http://www.weather.com.:)
cruiseerf Posted June 25, 2006 #5 Share Posted June 25, 2006 Hello: April is one of the hottest months in BKK however not so rainy. This year the rains started in Mid May and have continued ever since. When they say rainy season in Thailand it means it usually rains in the morning for an hour or two then the day is hot and humid. Then in the afternoon again usually with thunder. Also keep in mind when it does rain....it RAINS. Enjoy.
Judith02 Posted June 26, 2006 #6 Share Posted June 26, 2006 We will be in Bangkok next April. In addition to other tours in the area, the cruise line offers two from the port to Bangkok. One is a full day and includes motor coach transfers to and from Bangkok as well as sightseeing in one day. The other sees approximately the same places but stays overnight in a five star hotel and makes it a two day tour. That one is considerably more money. Does anyone have any information for me that might tip the scales one way or the other?
Desert Cruisers Posted June 27, 2006 #7 Share Posted June 27, 2006 You need to consider how much time is spent traveling to and from the port. We have visited Bangkok but never on a cruise. Bangkok has terrible traffic so a lot of the tour time may be eaten up while sitting on a highway. There are many things to do in the evening so I would opt for a longer stay in the city. Might another option be to arrange a tour and an overnight stay on your own that would be more affordable?:)
