skandls Posted July 1, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 1, 2006 We have been on only one other HAL cruise - the Montreal to New York on the Rotterdam. Because the itinerary was so port intensive the after late dinner activities were pretty much none existant. Is this also true for the Northern Europe cruise? If we want more to do after dinner which ship should we consider for June/July 2007?

If we want more to do after dinner which ship should we consider for June/July 2007? If you're looking for "night life" after 2nd seating dinner for northern Europe in JUN/JUL 07, I would go for Veendam or Rotterdam over Prinsendam. Don't get me wrong, we love the Prinsendam and will be on her 31 days from now but it seems like night life on her after about 2300 hours (11 PM) seems to die down a bit and/or completely. That is, except for the formal nights when it tends to die off around midnight. Also on Prinsendam, the focal point at night is in the Ocean Bar as opposed to the Crow's Nest on the "S" and "R" class vessels. On Veendam and Rotterdam, there's usually a crowd in the Crow's Nest depending on how good the life band there as well as the DJ is and what kind of music they're playing (anything but ©RAP please). The cruise staff will also hold their "theme nights" there. Just a word of caution, most, if not all, of the Baltic cruises are pretty port intensive also, similar to Canada/NE, but you can't beat the itineraries! Whatever you decide, have a great cruise in 07!
