AlohaPride Posted August 25, 2006 #26 Share Posted August 25, 2006 I'm so happy to hear that it's $49 TOTAL. I was told that it was $49 on top of my $20 making it a whopping $69 dollar meal. Yay! I've already paid my $20 pp so we will only have $29 pp left to pay.
Krazy Kruizers Posted August 26, 2006 Author #27 Share Posted August 26, 2006 The Pinnacle Special Wine Tasting menu hasn't changed in the last couple of years. Doubt if the wines will change as HAL is promoting Washinton wines. Remember that Seattle is in Washinton.
happy cruzer Posted August 26, 2006 #28 Share Posted August 26, 2006 Thanks Paul and KKrusers. Paul your point about spoiling the wine dinner pairings is dead on. And what I meant was to try another appetizer in addition to the salmon, just in case the salmon wasn't my cup of tea. But even that might mess up the old taste buds I can kinda agree. Yep, I caught the ole Wa - Seattle connection and they did pick some very nice wines that I will probably never find here locally. It's a great menu without a doubt. Of course the regular PG menu is great too. I will have to give this alot of serious happy thought.:)

danabanana612 Posted August 27, 2006 #30 Share Posted August 27, 2006 You can call Ships Services in advance of boarding and book Pinnacle. The number is 800-541-1576. Have your cruise booking/confirmation number and your credit card at hand. They will charge the $20 pp to your credit card at that time rather than wait to charge it to your shipboard account as they would if you made the reservation after boarding. Hi, How far in advance can you make reservations through the Ship Services #? Thanks, Dana
Krazy Kruizers Posted August 27, 2006 Author #31 Share Posted August 27, 2006 We always call at least 2 months in advance - just to make certain that we get the date and time we want. AND mainly so that the credit card statement will be in and we have it to take along with us should there be and problems.
sail7seas Posted August 27, 2006 #32 Share Posted August 27, 2006 You can call ships services anytime but KK makes a good point. It would be useful to be able to bring your credit card bill with you in case there is ever a question as to your having pre-paid for your dinner. I've never heard of a problem in that regard but that doesn't mean it can't happen.
Krazy Kruizers Posted August 27, 2006 Author #33 Share Posted August 27, 2006 It did happen to us this past spring on the Amsterdam - no record of us using AMEX Plat or pre-paying for Pinnacle. Lots of problems on that cruise.
sail7seas Posted August 27, 2006 #34 Share Posted August 27, 2006 Did you/how did you get it straightened out?
WNYCRUISER Posted August 27, 2006 #35 Share Posted August 27, 2006 I just made reservations for the PG on an upcoming cruise. Paid with credit card as I assumed. They asked me for home mailing address at that time. Do they, or are they starting to send out some sort of confirmation via snail mail?
Krazy Kruizers Posted August 27, 2006 Author #36 Share Posted August 27, 2006 Sail - thankfully we had taken our statement with us - the concierge took note - and the front office called Seattle. We were nearly 6 days into the cruise vefore everything was straightened out. We have gotten a copy of the letter that our TA got from HAL concerning the Pinnacle not being free the first night on the Statendam cruise. We are to be reimbursed on our next statement for the $40. Krazy Kruizers Posted August 27, 2006 Author #37 Share Posted August 27, 2006 Whenever we have made reservations by phone for the Pinnacle they have always asked for our home address as well - for credit confirmation, I guess. Never have gotten anything in writing from Seattle.
Wildcats Posted August 27, 2006 #38 Share Posted August 27, 2006 KrazyKruisers mentioned getting Pinnacle Grill reservations two months in advance so that you would have a copy of your credit card statement to prove that you paid. An alternative is to log on to your credit card company's web site, and print out a copy of your statement or current charges right before you go. The web site is "live" and shows charges as they are posted to your account. Usually for Visa/ American Express there is a one to two day delay from time of charge to posting on your account. You will for sure then have proof of your payment. I check our credit card and checking accounts on line a couple of times a week for activity. Krazy Kruizers Posted August 28, 2006 Author #40 Share Posted August 28, 2006 Wildcats Thanks for the advise - but for some unknown reason I just have never bothered to check our credit card statements on line. I know that I can do it, but just haven't - yet.
Krazy Kruizers Posted August 28, 2006 Author #41 Share Posted August 28, 2006 Just once we would like to start a cruise without any problems - luck hasn't been with us lately. Maybe HAL is giving us a hint to cruise another line.
