readytolose Posted July 16, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 16, 2006 We will be sailing on the Radiance in March. We have booked a Balcony stateroom and I'm just curious if we will be able to lay out on the balcony to tan. Does the sun shine on the balcony or is it too covered to shine there. Seems to me it would be easier to tan there than to try and fight for a lounge chair by the pool! Thanks!
jwlane Posted July 16, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 16, 2006 Always depends on the angle of the sun/time of day/direction of travel.
Magicat Posted July 16, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 16, 2006 Also depends on which deck and where. Deck seven forward blaconies are bigger and there is space to tan but that also depends on jwlane's response
AFT_LOVER Posted July 16, 2006 #4 Share Posted July 16, 2006 In May we were on Jewel in an AFT corner stateroom (9256) where we had 2 loungers, 2 chairs & a table. Plenty of room to lay out for a tan, a nap, or just to watch the wake. The side balcony (E1) has very small area that 2 chairs & a small table was packed so we had them over to our balcony which they are now booking for cruises on Radiance class. cb at sea Posted July 16, 2006 #5 Share Posted July 16, 2006 Don't count on tanning on your balcony. There are overhangs from deck 11 that make getting full sunlight iffy. You may get sun very early or very late in the day. Just go to the upper decks and tan!
gypsealin Posted July 17, 2006 #6 Share Posted July 17, 2006 We will be sailing on the Radiance in October in cabin 9092. Can anybody tell me if there are lounge chairs on the balcony?
2tall Posted July 17, 2006 #7 Share Posted July 17, 2006 I can't answer your question...but I am curious as to when you're sailing. My husband and I will be on the Radiance from March 17 through the 25th. How about you?

We had 9256 on Serenade and it definately is a "more" sunny balcony than some of our other corner afts we have had. There is also that little standing room only part in the far corner that is good for leaning back on the steel and get the full sun too.

just4kixx Posted July 17, 2006 #11 Share Posted July 17, 2006 We had a grande suite on the 10th deck on the Radiance... No lounger, and no direct sun light. Still loved the room & the balcony! A~
