Here is a quick review of our cruise on the Spirit 7/8-7/16

Embarkation: It was a breeze for us because my Mom who broke her hip and uses a cane needed a wheel chair to the entrance , so the whole party gets to go to the front of the line. Thank goodness because we arrived at around 1:00 and the lines looked really long, although I don't know if they were moving fast as I did not wait there myself.

Once onboard we headed over to the back deck behind Raffles. In no time at all they announced that we can go to our cabins. At around 4:00 we headed back to the same back deck to sail away and view NYC , this is really quite a sight. After sailing away I went down to the Main lobbey to make our dinner Reservations for the week. It was really busy down there but I only waited a few minutes.

Saturday: Raffles- Its not that bad , its a buffet , something for everyone.

Sunday: Cagneys- Excellent dinner and service.

Monday: Garden Room- food is pretty good service was excellent

Tuesday: (Port Day)Raffles- quick, easy and again ,something for everone ***my son loved the crepes**

Wednesday:Windows-(Carbbean Night)Food was very good, the waiter was horrible, I dont think he spoke one word!

Thursday:Shogun- Food was excellent , we ordered lots of entrees and shared. The waiter was really confused though. We only paid $6.25 per person as it was before 6:00 pm, this is well worth it.

Friday:La Trattoria- Not bad/Not great. Service: although the waiter was extremely nice and friendly, he just couldnt get our orders straight .

Saturday: Windows- (Chefs Choice) Food was good but again the service was not that great .

**I found that dining on this cruise took about 2-2 1/2 hours , since we had a baby in our party this was kind of a long time.

Overall I think the food is excellent in the specialty restaurants and good to very good in the main dining rooms.

We also ate at the Blue Lagoon and this was really good , great for a quick snack.

Our cabin was 9130-balcony, nice location . Plenty enough room for myself, my husband and 13 year old son . He slept on the sofa which opened to a full size bed. With the bed open there was limited space.I wont lie, the bathroom is SMALL.

Our room attendant was Violeta and awfully nice, very accomodating.

Our room was spotless.

Entertainment: Saw the show on Sunday and dont recall what it was called. It was pretty good.

Alfred and Seymour: We really liked them (very funny)

Richie Minervini: Okay

Second City: Didnt like this one too much.

My husband won pretty good in the casino so that was nice.

I would go back on the Spirit in a flash, I thought the ship was really nice and clean and for the most part all of the staff was really friendly and always smiling.

If you are going on the Spirit you need to walk around and check out all the different areas of the ship. Little quiet spots . Places to have a drink , etc...

I will be happy to answer any questions.

We saw Alfred and Seymour last summer on the Wind & my (adult) children did some partying with them, so they are looking forward to seeing them again. Hoping they're still on board in couple weeks!

Thanks for the review!
