****Live from the Grand Princess****

I STILL say this is the best "Live From...." thread I have ever read! Quite honestly, it is the first thing I check in the morning, and the last thing I check at night. Some would say I need a life.............

Tony, we have chosen Personal Choice dining as well when we go in a couple of weeks. But I have a question about wine. If I bring my own bottle to the dining room (I realize the corkage fee will apply), what happens if I don't finish the entire bottle? I usually select Traditional dining, so they keep it no problem. But with Personal Choice, there is no telling where we will end up having dinner the following night. Do I take the bottle with me at the conclusion of dinner, then bring it back the following night? Or is there somewhere they keep all of the random bottles of wine?

We'll thanks and keep reading!

No you can tell your waiter even if your on Personal Choice that you would like to have the bottle kept aside and they will ask you for your cabin number and tag your bottle with it and when you come you just tell that you have a bottle and they will go and get it...no problems.

T & J,

Thanks so much for this live travelogue of the cruise. I emailed a couple of friends, Larry and KC, that I was following their cruise courtesy of your timely and interesting posts. They said they met you two :D

We had a great dinner tonight...the Maitre'd arranged for an off the menu Indian Dinner. Some of the Sous Chefs are Indian in the Kitchen and prepared authentic Indian dishes for us tonight. Some of the best curries I have ever tasted along with some spiced Okra, curried Lamb, Indian Rice and Nan bread. For dessert they made us some canoli's that were just to die for as well.

Went to the "office" with some good results.

Made a mistake, we are in Kusadasi tomorrow morning at 8:00am.

Going ashore tomorrow and having soem turkish food for lunch.

More to follow early tomorrow morning from the Grand Princess.

Good Morning from the Grand Princess....

As I am typing we are just about to pull up alongside our berth here in Kusadasi, Turkey. We were suppose to arrive at 8:00am but alas we are early this morning. The weather today looks to be very hot and sunny and a forecast high of 98F...WOW that's hot!

Today we plan on just doing some shopping a the bazzar which is not far from the ship and also take in lunch and have some authentic Turkish food as well. We had thought of going to Ephaseus but all decided instead that we would prefer to just have a relaxed and unrushed day without any driving.

Kind of slept in this morning until 7:00am which felt good!

More to follow later today from the Grand Princess.

Good morning Tony,

(from a sunny New Zealand afternoon),

Just clicked on to the cam and saw you approaching the pier.

Looks like another fine day.

Have a great time in Kusadasi.

Yes David the weather looks to be great here today! How is the weather in Auckland? I am visiting friends in Timaru when I stop there in December enroute to Papeete.

Okay.....I give up on trying to guess what the "office" is. I thoroughly enjoy reading this adventure knowing I can never afford to go so I must live it through here. Can someone give me a hint here....Tony? What in the heck do you normally do that you can do on a ship and travel so much without actually being employed by the ship. Alot of people here must have known you way before these cruises. Turkey....yes.....my son was stationed there.

When I refer to the "Office" I mean the CASINO!:D

Actually everyone on here kows me from the ships, not from my personal life originally.

My work allows me to be able sometimes to be working on a ship as long as I have interet access and satelite phone connection.

Just came back from having lunch at a seaside restaurant not to far from the main gates of the port of Kusadasi. We had an excellenty meal with white wine, a nice mixed salad, fried calamari and pan grilled red snapper...just amazing as a meal and very tasty and light.

This afternoon onboard the program is being "lazy" and takign a little power nap and then going to the gym later on before heading for dinner tonight.

The weather heer today is fantastic as well with very little humidity and sunny skies.

More to follow from the Grand Princess.
