Mustang349 Posted August 29, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 29, 2006 We a doing a Panama Canal cruise on the Volendam and are in a S Delux Suite. It says they have a refrigerator and a mini bar, is this correct and if so, can you store wine in the refrig.? What other amenities do these suites have? Never been on HAL. jhannah Posted August 29, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 29, 2006 Yes, there is a mini-fridge that is stocked. If you want to store wine, just ask your cabin steward to remove what's in there already. The deluxe (S) suites are wonderful. Click here for HAL's listing of amenities included in the various cabin categories.
Krazy Kruizers Posted August 29, 2006 #3 Share Posted August 29, 2006 We often have our cabin steward remove the soda cans and beers from the refrigerator. Never has been a problem.
sail7seas Posted August 29, 2006 #4 Share Posted August 29, 2006 The mini bar is the usual type we find in many hotel rooms. It is fully stocked but as KK says, you can have everything removed if you do not think you will want to use anything. You could then put your wine in the mini bar if you wish. Your steward, on request, will bring you a wine chiller and fill it with ice. They do that with the Welcome Aboard gifts of champagne we receive from the Captain and Hotel Manager. Volendam is a very beautiful ship we sailed twice within the last year. I hope you enjoy her as much as we did.
