QE2 and QV combination 2008 World Cruise

Many months ago when Cunard put a news release on its web site about people being able to book both the QE2 to Sydney and then changing ships and boarding the QV on the same day (Feb. 24, 2008), to Southampton, we decided that that was the way to go for us. We didn't want to repeat the QE2's second half back across the Pacific and through the Panama Canal which we have done on her several times. We booked the combination yesterday and still got the shipboard credits, paid gratuities and the other world cruise perks. The QM2 will be in Southampton at the end of the QV's voyage on April 22, 2008 to take passengers across to New York, along with people who are on the Pacific Princess' world cruise which ends in S'hampton on the same day. Anyone else thought of doing this?

Aloha,

Patti

hey oahucruiser.....Ive today booked the Queen Victoria from Singapore to Southampton 2008 with an option Im working on for sydney to singapore., what cabin grade have you booked...? I did the Panama Canal on the QE2 this year and it was pretty incredible, but really looking forward to being on the QV on all her maiden ports.

We are booked in an A-5 Balcony, toward the stern. We tried for several others more in the center but they were already gone. Couldn't believe so many were already booked since they just released it. Hope you will consider the whole voyage, SYD-SOU. The welcome that we will get in each port should be wonderful.

Wow..a5 balcony....My new BEST friends! Iam hopeing to do the sydney section however as a solo traveller and then also converting back to NZ dollars..(Aprox 60 cents in the us dollar!) Im not sure its going to be possible till i win some form of lottery! so at this stage im in a d guarantee. One of the appealing factors is definately going to be we are on her for the maiden ports. I didnt really enjoy the QM as much and am also looking to the QV for the initmacy of the smaller ship similar hopefully to the QE2. .but hey...as long as we are floating on the water and not under it Im thrilled to be aboard!
