SusieCruisie Posted September 13, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2006 I have never left on a cruise during the winter season, but will be doing so this Feb to Southern Caribbean. I was wondering, at what point do they start having the band by the pool, my Mom will be traveling with us, and I want to be able to tell her so she won't be disappointed. Thanks :)
Vic The Parrot Posted September 13, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 13, 2006 Hi there I was on Noordam in Feb and March of this year. There was a band doing sailaway around the indoor pool area. (It was warmer in March, but they still set up shop under the glass roof) You made a good choice ... my Noordam is a nice ship. Enjoy!
WNYCRUISER Posted September 13, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 13, 2006 The main Lido pool on the Noordam has a sliding glass dome. This will be closed when you embark in NY, and it is quite comfortable in there. By our previous Daily Programs, it appears that music by the pool began on the first sea day from 11:30-12:15 and 12:30-1:15. It seems they have too much hub-bub going on embarkation day to have them there.
WNYCRUISER Posted September 13, 2006 #4 Share Posted September 13, 2006 Vic, we posted at the same time. For the life of me I thought they had music there when we embarked in March, but I saw no mention of it in the Daily Program. Maybe that is just part of the "sailaway festivities". RuthC Posted September 13, 2006 #5 Share Posted September 13, 2006 When I sailed the Noordam in March the sail-away party was held by the indoor Lido pool. There was a band (of sorts) that played then. By the next day it was far too hot there for me; I couldn't go through there during the daytime. I wouldn't know if there was music at lunchtime then.
