Rare Lois R Posted July 17, 2009 #1081 Share Posted July 17, 2009 The Intercontinental is hot now. Just got this on Priceline: Date: Thursday and Friday 1/14/10 & 1/15/10 Hotel: Intercontinental San Juan Resort Spa & Casino Area: San Juan Site: Priceline Winning bid: $90 Maybe we will run into each other. I am staying there on Jan 15th too:D:) What ship are you sailing?
topazz11 Posted July 17, 2009 #1082 Share Posted July 17, 2009 (edited) Sweet, I did not put in any amenities. I was afraid to use Priceline. lol I thought I would get stuck with a hotel I didn't want. I would rather have had the Intercontinental, but it seems that La Concha is nice and I know it is in a nice area. sweetair Posted July 17, 2009 #1083 Share Posted July 17, 2009 topazz, my friends and i have stayed at the la concha before and really liked it. (in fact i preferred it over the Icontinental because of location.) IF i can choose i always try for condado area over isla verde area. Its new, Its clean, i met erik estrada(ok no guarantees on that) Its walkable to many restaurants. I leave tomorrow for a week in puerto rico Woohoo! When looking at hotwire it lists unseen hotels with icons like 4-star,pool,beachfront etc etc. then you press continue under the price and lists more icons...can you tell me what icons are listed for this particular hotel? If you scroll farther down on the second page, it may list trip advisor rating (like 4 out of 5 based on over 500 reviews or 3 1/2 out of 5 based on 157 reviews). This would help me tremendously thanks *sweet*

ILgirl Posted July 17, 2009 #1085 Share Posted July 17, 2009 This has probably been mentioned a few times on this thread but you owe it yourself to check out www.hotelplusportal.com We booked the Sheraton for 11/13 and 11/14 at $90 a night. No guessing on the hotel like Priceline and Hotwire. You choose your hotel upfront.
topazz11 Posted July 17, 2009 #1086 Share Posted July 17, 2009 Sweet, You are never going to believe this.....I used Priceline, not Hotwire. LOL LOL I tired to do it the same way one of the posters did and ended up with La Concha. I have to go edit my other post. When I went to Hotwire, their lowest price was $139 for a 4 star resort. Sorry.
sweetair Posted July 17, 2009 #1087 Share Posted July 17, 2009 no problem topazz I know how to get it thru priceline but im glad you told me. I havent seen hotwire offer the la concha YET. the hotel that hotwire was offering for $139 is most likely the icontinental. (at least thats what it is on my dates as well) i am avoiding it thanks *sweet*

Hawk15 Posted July 19, 2009 #1089 Share Posted July 19, 2009 Priceline noob here. We would like to book 3 rooms with 6 adults/5 kids hopefully at the Intercontinental Feb 26 pre-cruise then Mar 7-10 post cruise. Is it true that Priceline only books single rooms for 2 adults, if so is there any strategies to work around this? Thanks

Is it true that Priceline only books single rooms for 2 adults, if so is there any strategies to work around this? Thanks Some people have said they called the hotel after winning and asked for double beds, but you are taking your chances if you have more than two in a room when bidding on Priceline. Have you checked out Hotwire, you can reserve for up to 4 in a room.

Gordonzoo Posted July 22, 2009 #1096 Share Posted July 22, 2009 I'm getting ready to book on priceline but would like to target Intercontinental or La Concha. I'd rather stay away from Conrad. Any pointers would be helpful in helping my chances. Did you guy's pick 4 star or resort as the preference?

raynvic Posted July 22, 2009 #1100 Share Posted July 22, 2009 I tried LKnights method trying to get the Intercontinental for Sat. 1/16. I went all the way up to $112. I finally went to a 4 star and got La Concha for $105. I booked 3 rooms for 6 adults. I think we got a pretty good deal and LKnight, you gave terrific instructions, couldn't have done it without them. Thanks.
