takeavacation Posted September 15, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 15, 2006 Anyone have the receipe for the infamous Labadoozie from Labadee? I've been searching the internet and can't find it. Our bartender on board told us that the Labadoozie and the CocoLoco are the same drink -- so anyone have that receipe???? Thanks!:)
familycruzer Posted September 15, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 15, 2006 This is from a Royal Caribbean site .... Coco Loco - A CocoCay original It's easy to do a Coco Loco. Toss all the ingredients into a blender, and blend until smooth. Then pour the potion into a cocktail glass and dress it up with a fresh wedge of pineapple. Yum! Now you can find this frosty treat in two places: CocoCay, Bahamas, our own private island, and at your next backyard barbecue. Ingredients: 1/2 oz Orange Juice Concentrate 1/2 oz Pineapple Juice Concentrate 1/2 oz Papaya Juice Concentrate 1/2 oz Coconut Cream 3/4 oz Dark Rum (Or make it a virgin Coco Loco without the rum) 3/4 oz Coconut Rum 1/4 oz Grenadine Crushed ice (Makes one cocktail)
veggie59 Posted September 15, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 15, 2006 Sounds like drinks I make at home. Orange juice, pineapple juice, splash of cranberry juice, and coconut rum. Put in blender with ice.....it gets very frothy. Yummm!!!!!

I'm not totally convinced it's the same -- but, I'm willing to try!! Anyone else know the exact receipe for the Labadoozie?:p
Melba1024 Posted September 15, 2006 #5 Share Posted September 15, 2006 I would love to know too - as the Labadoozie is my favorite foo foo drink! Maybe I'll give the Coco Loco a try (I probably wouldn't know the difference anyway, lol).
robntawn Posted September 15, 2006 #6 Share Posted September 15, 2006 According to a recent Cruise Compass, the Labadoozie is"...a blend of Dark Rum, Pineapple mix, Papaya, Orange Juice and a touch of Grenadine."
takeavacation Posted September 15, 2006 Author #7 Share Posted September 15, 2006 According to a recent Cruise Compass, the Labadoozie is"...a blend of Dark Rum, Pineapple mix, Papaya, Orange Juice and a touch of Grenadine." So - that would make it the same as the CocoLoco listed above -- just remove the Coconut flavors....sounds like a winner!! I'm gonna try it!:p

I had them on Labadee also -- loved them -- even had them on the ship all the way to the end of the cruise! The bartender didn't even have to ask what I wanted - he knew!:p
Merion_Mom Posted September 15, 2006 #10 Share Posted September 15, 2006 I know that MINE didn't have any coconut in it...........because I LOATHE coconut and could have tasted it from across the island. To everyone planning on rushing out to try making it yourself: In my opinion, it just doesn't taste like a Labadoozie unless you drink it out of a genuine Labadoozie cup. Anyone wanna buy one of mine? ;)
Mdseagull Posted September 15, 2006 #11 Share Posted September 15, 2006 When I was on Labadee they were calling them CocoLocos, betting they are similar

Rare BillOh Posted September 15, 2006 #13 Share Posted September 15, 2006 3/4 oz Dark Rum (Or make it a virgin Coco Loco without the rum) 3/4 oz Coconut Rum ) On the beach at Labadee they have the virgin mix in the glasses and add the alcohol if desired. Its the same price either way, so they are happy to give you your alcohol and that of the guy who didn't want it
takeavacation Posted September 15, 2006 Author #14 Share Posted September 15, 2006 The above is very true -- the bartender on land just handed us the rum bottle and told us to pour as much as we wanted into our Labadoozie cups! We tried to just hand back the cup and keep the bottle -- but, that didn't work. However, they were good strong Labadoozies!!!:)
