RuthC Posted September 18, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 18, 2006 If there's a cabin available and you can foot the bill HAL will be happy to take your money.
hammybee Posted September 18, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 18, 2006 This can be as late as the day you sail.
OceanFantasys Posted September 18, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted September 18, 2006 Thank you. I booked mine through an online travel agent. Are these category cabins nice or should I move up to another S category?
jhannah Posted September 18, 2006 #5 Share Posted September 18, 2006 The SS category cabins (which include SY and SZ) are very spacious. The bathrooms are wonderful ... worth the price of admission, IMO. If you want the advantage of a concierge and the other benefits of booking an S suite, then that would be your answer. funlovin'cruiser Posted September 18, 2006 #6 Share Posted September 18, 2006 This can be as late as the day you sail. It can even be mid-cruise. The Guest Relations Manager holds staterooms of guests who have missed the ship for various reasons on the day of embarkation until he/she knows that they are not attempting to join the ship. The the stateroom is returned to their inventory. At that point the Guest Relations Manager can decide to use that stateroom as an upgrade for guests that are having issues with their stateroom or offer to it to guests who have approached the Front Office inquiring about an upgrade. Doesn't mean that the upgrade will be free though...since it's back in the ship's inventory they can charge an upgrade fee (although it's usually very modest).:)
