? about how much money to bring

DH and I are going on a 2 night cruise next month on The Legend and I was wondering how much cash do you think we would need. Do you pay for most things with your Sail and Sign Card? If we brought $400 for the 2 of us would that be a good amount?

Thanks,

Sandi

Do you plan on :

Bingo? - $400

Gambling? - $1000

Drinking? - $1000

Gambling and Drinking? $5000

Gambling and drinking at the same time??? - Leave your money home.

So do you think $400 would be enough? We aren't big gamblers. We will go to the casino but won't spend hours on end in there. I will probably play a game or 2 of bingo but that's it.

You are talking 2 nights... only you can determine how much you will spend, how much you drink, etc? If $400 is your budget, you make it work... we can't really tell you if $400 is enough... for me, it wouldn't be... for many others, it would be.

I think I will put most of the stuff on the sail and sign card. So I think $400 will be enough....maybe $500.

Thanks.

Oh, you are talking about actual cash?? LOL... thought you were talking about money to put on your S&S account. $400 should be enough cash for a 2 day cruise.

Almost everything is put on your sign and sail card. Drinks, gift shop, etc...none of these places even take cash. I think the only place that actually accepts money is tips, casino and bingo. (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

So it depends, if you have your s&s card linked to your credit card, then $400 for tips, souvenirs, etc would be fine. If you want to pay your s&s off before you leave the ship, then you need to decide how much you are going to drink, gamble, shop, etc.

Yes talking about actual cash. :) Since most places only accept the sail and sign, I will just bring $400. That should be plenty for tips, bingo and the casino.

Thanks.

Don't forget singles for the room service. It is the only time you can tip with cash. The gratuity is added everywhere else. Usually a $1 or $2, depending on the size of your order.

I don't think the CTN uses porters so no need for singles there...

Very true its up to you on how much you plan to spend. I budget $100.00 a night for the casino alone. Sometimes I go over LOL but its all in fun.

for me thats way to much for the both of us...last cruise we spent 180 bucks total (with tips included in that amount) (this was also for a 7 day cruise.

the original question of is $400 dollars enough............that is too much in my opinon for 2 nights , everything is on your SS card, you don't use cash for anything.......although I would use the cash for gambling so you can keep track of it better (although I am not a big gambler, so you really can't go by my opion on that) but odds and ends tip will go no where near 400 dollars unless you are eating morning noon and night and mid night and mid moring .........in the cabin and having it delivered! LOL

You can pre book your excursions as well and pre pay your tips.........(other then room servicing tipping)........so I don't know why you would need so much cash for 2 days. If you were going to a few ports then I would say yes for sure other wise , really no reason for it.

Enjoy your trip no matter what!

Well I try to win at least one night LOL. If I walk off and drop $100.00 for the cruise I feel that's a win. I bet very light. You see some people you wonder where they get all that money from, and you see others useing there ss card.
