Upgrade to Room by Elevator - A problem???

I have an inside cabin in the bowels (Plaza deck) and an upgrade just appeared on the Sky Deck by the Elevators. It is the Millenium.

 

Would there be any noise problem or concerns there? Should we take it?

I'm wondering the same thing on our cruise. I was offered the elevator location for our cabin and I thought YEAH, quick easy access. Now I'm not so sure after reading how noisy the elevators and passengers can be there.

I have been near the elevator on a couple cruises and love the location because of the stairs and elevators being so close. I cannot remember any noticeable noise at all. I think you will enjoy your rooms!

Wanted to hear that... Add to that we are cruising Celebrity not Carnival I was only slightly concerned. I don't remember a very lively ship the last time or any noise at all.:)

I agree with lvtolrvl1, I pick a cabin as close to the elevators as possible and I have never had a problem with noise!!

How did this upgrade "appear"? Were you offered it by X, or did you notice an opening/price reduction on their website? Curious how upgrades are offered if that is the case (e-mail, phone call from X, etc.)

I was then told by my TA that as a Member of CC I am eligible for a 1 category upgrade. I had the last quad, but have been checking on-line just to confirm that I got a good price as it was a spur of the moment decision to book a cruise and I booked.

 

I have learned since then that you can hold a room for 48 hours and rooms seem to come on and off holds. Found this 1 category upgrade and have put a hold on it (so I don't lose it), however then it becomes a little bit of a hassle to switch around the reservation without the TA as Celebrity can't do it.

I am a light sleeper and hear everything. I love being near the elevators as they are so convenient and often they are far away enough from the cabins so noise is not a concern.

We are another couple that have to be near elevators because husband is disabled, we love the location, not noisy at all.

We've been in cabins at the elevator lobby a couple of times, and had no problem with noise. However, the light coming in under the door all night was quite noticeable (for some reason, more so than other hallway cabins) so we used a pool or beach towel to block it out.
