I didn't think the Voyager class ships' safes used the magnetic strip...(?)

Is it safe to use the seapass to open the safe? Or is it better to bring another card? Anyone ever have trouble getting the safe back open?

I used the seapass to open the safe and it worked fine for the first several days and then it suddenly wouldn't work anymore. A maintenance man came to the cabin and said not to use the seapass card. They had to reset the safe. I didn't realize it would cause a problem. I thought it was really nice to use because I didn't have to carry a credit card, too.

Paul thanks. Never use the Sea Pass or a Credit card. What if you loose these? Do your have a AAA card, a loyalty card for your local supermarket or store such as Costco, Sam' Club or BJ's? Those all work well.

We just returned from the Grandeur and had to use a major CC. We tried a supermarket card, Costco card, Library card and Kinko's card. They did not work. We really didn't want to use our CC but had no choice. Maybe those other cards work for some, but didn't for us.

Well, I guess I'll bring a supermarket card and see if it works and it it doesn't I guess I'll have to use my credit card. Seems like they are all different. It would be nice to just make up a four digit code and not have to worry about carrying a card with you.

I am very slow to figure things out, but why do we need a magnetic strip from a CC to open the safe on Splendour?

We used a Kroger card & a Wal Mart Gift card that had a zero balance on Splendour last week.

You don't have to use an expired credit card. I current one works just fine. Just don't use your room key.
