Winter Boat Parade in Ft. Lauderdale

We'll be in Ft Lauderdale on 12/16 for 12/17 CP sailing. Heard about Winter Boat Parade in Ft. Lauderdale on 12/16. Looking for more info on the Parade.

 

Have you've seen it in the past? Tickets are $18 p/p - is it worse it? Do you have to buy tickets or is there a place where you can view the parade for free? ;)

They have several areas for watching with out paying. The 17th st causeway bridge is where they start, then they end way up the intercoastal.

I am disappointed that I will miss it. Our cruise leaves FLL at 5 pm :( It looks like fun.

 

I wonder what the website means when it says "Port Everglades closes at 4". I hope every one makes it to the ship by 4!
