Inside passage rental car question???

Is Skagway the only port in the inside passage that you can rent a car? We have been to Alaska several times and are going back again next September. We would like to rent a car in several ports and sightsee on our own if that is possible.

Depending on your ports, there is lots to do in many of the ports without renting a car. I especially think of Juneau and Ketchikan. It probably depends on how much time you have in port and what your priorities are for sightseeing.

There are car rentals in all the ports. Alaska Car Rental out of Ketchikan picks up at the dock, Rent a Wreck out of Juneau also does. Be well aware that most Juneau rentals do not offer shuttles and you can then add at least $40 in cab fares to the airport. Verify shuttles with other agencies out of Ketchikan. I have rented in all 3 ports several times. Do your homework on where you want to drive to.
