Hey all my CC pals!

 

I am having a wonderful time on Radiance...she is a gorgeous ship! We are doing a 8 day...in a Grand Suite (love it!) ...loved all the ports ...Nassau is very windy and a tad chilly...we had an adventorous time coming into port this morn...high waves and lot's of wind...kinda scary when we were playing bingo this morn...the ship was rocking so much the bingo board fell over and glasses flew off the bar...but in the midst of all of that I won the 7 night cruise!! I was so excited! Anyway I will post a full report when I return...Hi to all of my CC pals on this cruise....Jan, Bozzebrothers, Karen, and everone else...(can't hink right now...too sad coming home tommorro...LOL)

Congrats on winning that cruise! What a wonderful thing to have happen. I don't know how many other cruises you might have reserved for the future, but winning the 7-nighter sure will help to dispell any post-cruise blues you might have once you leave the beautiful Radiance.

 

Is Willy still the Concierge?

To the OP, it was nice to see you (or at least the ship) in Nassau today. We are on the Sovereign and pulled in this afternoon. We are docked until 10AM tomorrow (cancelled CocoCay due to weather.) We also had a rough time coming in but all seems well. Too bad you couldnt stay over the night. CCL Elation, CCL Fascination, US, and the Majesty are all sittin' here! :D

Have they changed the beds/bedding?

 

I'll be sailing the same itinerary in Dec.

To answer a few more questions - having just gotten off the ship today...

 

Kieron Buffery was still the CD on board. He is quite good. Captain Rune Loekling is fantastic - funny, friendly, happy guy! Willy is indeed still the concierge, and he too is wonderful, along with his assistant Katerina. The bedding has not been upgraded yet - didn't bother me as I never really had a problem with it, but I suppose it would have been nice to have the fancy new stuff put in. I think Radiance is due in January 07.

 

We had to contend with 40-50 knot winds the 2nd to last night, and coming in to Nassau in the morning - it had the ship bouncing pretty good all night (those prone to it probably got a little sick, those with sea-legs got a nice rocking to sleep), then it spent 30 minutes in the morning keeled over 10-12 degrees from wind hitting port side, and then one big lurch even further starboard, which is when all the damage happened (lots of bars lost glasses and bottles, couple of casino tables slid out, windjammer lost lots of dishes and food, and the pool emptied onto some unfortunate folks lying to the starboard side of it, giving them an unexpected swim). Nothing permanent.

 

The night before, we had a medical emergency which forced an unscheduled return visit to San Juan to unload a passenger to a waiting tugboat. And the final night, we were woken to a triple-bravo alert (fire) at 2:45am calling fire crews to Windjammer. After several calls for crew, and an initial alert from the captain to calm everyone until more information could be learned, the captain came back on to notify that it was a dishwasher in the Windjammer that had an electrical short and caused a fire - but no part of the ship was damaged.

 

Great cruise, great ship, great crew - and a few twists and surprises thrown in to make it interesting!

I love the Radiance, my favorite ship, sounds like you had a great cruise, could you tell me if Willie is still the conceirge, we are going on in February again, and sure hope so. Congradulations on winning the cruise

Glad to hear that Willie is still there...

 

What an exciting time you had---amazing really to have had the weather, the "Bravo", and the poor passenger who had to go for medical treatment.

 

I have experienced all of those, but never all on the same trip!

Wait you forgot the CPR on the guy in the Champagne bar!!

 

What a crazy cruise, nice to meet both of you, soo glad you won the cruise. I returned home without my largest suitcase, but Airtran claims they have found it in Denver (???)

We were also on this cruise and loved it. I've been without a computer since we got home so coudn't post.

Have you found Gayle and Jan??? The co-Presidents of the Captain Rune Fan Club....I understand there is a party on board at some point, with CC members attending as well......
