Vic The Parrot Posted November 10, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 10, 2006 Ok, here we go ... another nice voyage on my* Noordam! :-) * I consider her mine due to the fact that I've sailed her 3 times already ... :D Embarcation: Something went wrong somewhere, somehow. I get to the dock around my usual time (3pm) to avoid the mad rush. Only to find there's still a line of people waiting to check in. What shocked me was that a rep gave me a numbered card in which I needed to advance to the check-in line! Never happened to me before ..... When the crowd was thinning out, I was sent to the priority boarding desk. (Guess those guys wanted to go home already) Even that line took forever and a day. So even having a suite doesn't guarantee a quick boarding  Cabin: Once on board, I found my home for the next 10 days. A nice, cosy room on Main Deck aft. It seemed far away from the crowds, and very quiet. Right under the galley area, and a few steps from the crew accomodation. Cabin 1114 is in a good location. Convenient to the restaurant on LP deck (1 flight up) and the aft stairtower. Noise from the galley wasn't bad .. on occasion I've heard hand-trolleys moved about during dinner hours, but it was a muffled sound that was easily melded into the ships "at sea" sound. ( TV volume at a decent level, and can't hear a thing .... and it ended at 11pm sharp ) More to follow ..

inai Posted November 10, 2006 #10 Share Posted November 10, 2006 Hey, Vic the parrot, (I was also on the Noordam with Vic..... Looking forward to your review as well. Heard about the "fake" cockroach at dinner:eek: from U4EA's post. It was a wonderful 10 day cruise. No complaints. But, I heard there now is no smoking in the casino:eek: . Not many places left to smoke. Sorry, to all those that don't smoke. But, it is my only vice. P.S. Vic.... did you get the Halloween pics via email? u4ea Posted November 10, 2006 #11 Share Posted November 10, 2006 Hey Inai and all, It's a good thing it was a good cruise. We were discussing how to get revenge for a bad cruise, and releasing colonies of bed bugs in strategic places around the ship was at the top of the list. Freeeeeee, beeeee freeeeeeeeee! Get um! :DMark....
inai Posted November 10, 2006 #12 Share Posted November 10, 2006 Hey, Vic the "Parrot", You're a Jimmy Buffett fan, huh? Vic The Parrot Posted November 11, 2006 Author #15 Share Posted November 11, 2006 Entertainment: N/A *note - I don't go to the shows they offer, seen all the acts. But in my experience, they've been pretty good. Food: No complaints. Altho I miss the Bami Goreng on the dinner menu. Service: Great as always. (Some nights in the restaurant were spotty ... getting the wrong course, but that was easily correctly with a smile) Ports: Every port was great. My only wonderment was why they shortened the call at Roadtown. But 9PM was a decent departure time to admire the nighttime scenery.
