Maasdam

We are thinking of possibly booking a Southern Caribbean Cruise on the Maasdam in late December. Does anyone have any information about the ship as it would be the smallest ship we have been on and my DW is a little concerned about the size. Any info about the kids program this time of year would also help.

Thanks for any info you can give us.

We loved the Maasdam. We went the other way on her -- Canada and New England. But she was a very nice ship in every way. I do have to say the buffet cannot compare to the Vista class ships. But otherwise she had everything we needed and is in fine shape. I think you will like her. Check our page below for our pics and report.

Have a GREAT cruise!

Beautiful, elegantly furnished ship with wonderful crew

wonderful facilities including lounges, disco, alternative restaurant, lunch buffet, casino, showroom, movie theatre/on board cooking show and 2 pools

Maasdam is the 2nd of the S class ships and made her debut in 1993/4

she is approximately 55,000 tons and carries about 1,200 pax

IMO, you should be very pleased with your choice

The Maasdam is an S-class ship, which is my favorite size (I won't sail the smaller Prinsendam until July).

It has all the lounges, dining venues, ammenities of the larger ships---just on a smaller scale. Everything is just a few steps away. If you need something back at the cabin you don't have to pack a lunch to go get it. You won't need to stop for a rest heading to the show after dinner. :D

Another nice thing is that on a smaller ship you keep running into the same people again. It's nice to meet up with new-found friends so easily. :)
