LADYLION08 Posted December 31, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 31, 2006 I AM GOING ON THE JUNE 23 CRUISE ON THE GLORY. WE WILL BE DOING THE EASTERN CRUISE. I JUST BOOKED THE RADDISSION FOR THE NIGHT BEFORE. WE ARE DRIVING UP FROM PA. HAS ANY BODY EVER STAYED AT THE RADDISSION BEFORE THE CRUISE AND TAKEN THE HOTEL SHUTTLE TO THE PORT. ARE THEY THERE TO PICK YOU UP WHEN YOUR CRUISE IS OVER. I ALSO HAVE A BALCONY GUARANTEED BOOKED. WHAT ARE MY CHANCES OF GETTING A UPGRADE. ANY INFORMATION WILL BE HELPFUL. ALSO IF THERE ARE ANY LATEST CAPERS OF THE GLORY IT WILL BE HELPFUL:confused:
BND Posted December 31, 2006 #2 Share Posted December 31, 2006 First, turn off your caps lock. Posting etiquette is that using all caps is the same as yelling. Plus it's hard to read. Second, yes, I've stayed at the Radisson twice and cruised Glory last month. You might want to check out the East Coast departures section of the board. That's where you'll find info on the hotel. I wasn't impressed with the shuttle the first cruise we did so we drove to and parked at the pier this last time. Are you doing eastern or western? I've lost track of which week they're on. That will make a difference in the capers as the itineraries are different and so the schedules will be different too. Different sea days, etc.

angelkisses Posted December 31, 2006 #5 Share Posted December 31, 2006 We were at the Raddison the week of Thanksgiving and had great shuttle service. If you plan to go on the shuttle be sure to call and reserve your pick-up time well in advance. We left at 10:30 which turned out to be perfect timing. We were on the ship around 11:30 and there were no long waits at the terminal. The shuttle runs about every 30 minutes. We were fortunate enough when we returned from the cruise that the shuttle was there and we were able to get right on with no wait time at all. I would go ahead and call the hotel now to see if they can schedule a pick-up time for you.
bcs819 Posted December 31, 2006 #6 Share Posted December 31, 2006 Thank you for turning off your caps :) We stayed at the Radisson several years ago and just booked it again for our Glory cruise in February. They HAVE changed the way the shuttle service operates, for the better from what I understand. We were NOT happy with it at all the last time, hoever, you can reserve the shuttle when you reserve your room. Previously, you could not reserve your shuttle till you checked in. Upgrades work in mysterious ways. We have been upgraded EVERY time we have booked a guarantee, but we never expect it. Keep in mind that the difference between 8a thru 8e is the same cabin, just a higher location on the ship. 8i is a larger (extended balcony). I beleive the best place to look for Capers is http://www.cruiseclues.com Enjoy your cruise, and keep an eye out for my Glory review towards the end of February. We're doing the Western, but I love reading detailed/LONG reviews...
