Bringing Food aboard the NCL Sun?

Has it been a problem to bring your own Food on to the ship? We are sailing on NCL Sun on 1/28, my DD's 16th birthday is on the 1st and we usually have a king cake ( Pastry w/creme filling and icing) for her b-day. Gotta love Mardi Gras:D.

Also I know that Cuban made cigars are forbidden as per the Customs statement upon disembarkation but do they really check the origin?? I only want 3 or 4 for my own personal pleasure. Is there a way to get around it??

Thanks

You cannot bring food onto or off the ship. Health codes, etc.

Call your TA and ask that the kind of cake you want be served on your DD's birthday. If it's not the first night of the cruise, then talk to the head waiter again to confirm.

If they find the cigars they probably will confiscate them. But, they would have to recognize them in the x-ray scanner first. They x-ray just like an airport now, so it's both checked and hand luggage.
