Misty Fjords Seaplane - Which Company?

I have found four different companies that offer a similar seaplane tour to Misty Fjords National Monument. They are all family/pilot owned and use similar types of planes. Can anyone recommend one over the other? Thank you very much in helping us decide which company to go with.

Island Wings

Carlin Air

Alaska Seaplane Tours

Seawind Aviation

:) We went with Island Wings. Michelle was great. A very personalized tour. We landed on a lake and got out to walk around for about 20 mins. or so. I think Michelle is the only pilot that actually lands so you can do this.

JUST TERRIFIC! :)

It is in Ketchikan. And we flew with Michelle at Island Wings in Sept of 2005. The flight was awesome. Michelle is a great pilot. If we ever get there again, we will be sure to book another flight with her.

We also flew with Michelle on Island Wings. We loved it!!:p The plane was in excenllent condition and she did a wonderful job narrating for us.

We also landed on a lake and were able to walk around a dock for a bit. We saw a bald eagle near by! (We have eagles here too, but it's not the same as Alaska!:o ) Don't let the weather worry you. When we docked, it was rainy and foggy. We thought for sure that we wouldn't be flying. But Michelle did a great job, we even saw a whale from above!

Enjoy your trip!

Thanks everyone for your feedback. It looks like Michelle at Island Wings is the clear favorite so far. Does anyone know what type of plane she flies? It doesn't say on her website, but the pictures seem to show a Cesna.

The other three companies fly DeHaviland Beavers, which my husband (airplane geek) prefers over the apparent Cesna.

So, if there is anyone out there who has flown with a company other than Island Wings, I'd love to hear from you about your experience.

Thanks everyone!

Tammy,

She also uses the DeHavilland Beaver. This is from her website FAQ section:

How many people will your plane hold?

Our DeHavilland Beaver holds six passengers comfortably and everybody gets a window seat. Our Dehavilland Beaver has had the interior seating reconfigured. This means that all six seats are window seats. Most of the Dehavilland Beaver aircraft flying today only have five window seats with a total capacity of seven seats. The result in this situation is the people in the middle have to look across the person next to them to see anything.
