smaNJ Posted March 22, 2010 #1728 Share Posted March 22, 2010 Hi, Does anyone have any thoughts about cabin 7128 on the Celebrity Infinity? Its a first cruise for one of us and she is very nervous about seasickness too. Do the ginger pills or ginger candy from Trader Joes really help? Thanks! sunneesmile Posted March 22, 2010 #1729 Share Posted March 22, 2010 Any thoughts (for a first timer) on cabin Dolphin-229 on Caribbean Princess? We have that booked this May. :) Thanks! That balcony is totally uncovered
gerbilseverywhere Posted March 22, 2010 #1730 Share Posted March 22, 2010 Used to work in fine-dining many years ago. Customers would always request to not sit near the bathroom area or kitchen. It's the same principle at play on cruises. Try and avoid the really active areas of the ship if you want to sleep. Stay in the middle, and don't fret the extra few steps to get a meal or get to the pool. You've got a few extra pounds to lose anyway, right? I know i sure do! serene56 Posted March 22, 2010 #1731 Share Posted March 22, 2010 Hi, Does anyone have any thoughts about cabin 7128 on the Celebrity Infinity? Its a first cruise for one of us and she is very nervous about seasickness too. Do the ginger pills or ginger candy from Trader Joes really help? Thanks! if "she" gets car sick or sick on amusments then she could get sick on the ship. Ships have stabilizers. although its a moving vessel at times you can forget you are at sea. You are midship so it wont get as much motion as the front or back

LHP Posted March 27, 2010 #1733 Share Posted March 27, 2010 Carnival Dream...Cove Balcony....fyi .....reported on another thread.... "We were in 2375 just below the end of the galley. During the day we heard nothing at all from the galley. But at night, all kinds of banging, dragging tables across the floor and general noise from about 10pm until 3am EVERY night. We called Guest Services when we heard it and after the second night they admitted it was a known issue with my cabin and there was nothing they could do to stop it. I will say, without even asking, the did provide some compensation to us (15% of our fare on our sign and sail and 15% off a future cruise)." SeaBentz Posted April 1, 2010 #1736 Share Posted April 1, 2010 We are sailing on Diamond Princess Baja426. Does anyone know if this balcony is covered or is it the kind where the people above can look down on you? I used to have a website that posted cruise ships outside pics and you could locate cabins...but that was several computers ago and I can't find it now. Does anyone have any pics or thoughts about this 8C cabin or any others in the area. I really need to cruise NOW but sadly I have to wait until December. Thanks! SeaBentz Posted April 2, 2010 #1741 Share Posted April 2, 2010 Does anyone know if this balcony is the kind that is partially uncovered, covered or viewable from the upper deck?
gwinel Posted April 3, 2010 #1742 Share Posted April 3, 2010 Don't book 6456 or 6458 Carnival Conquest, right above the lounge, very loud, and for some reason people above you like to throw food and drinks down on your deck... Don't book 6363 either! Directly above the band. The floor vibrates and you can hear every note!

From what i can tell we are either under the library or dining room. We are also across from Guest Services. Is this a bad spot??
serene56 Posted April 7, 2010 #1745 Share Posted April 7, 2010 (edited) We're going on our first cruise on the Carnival Paradise and we booked the OV guarantee. We were assigned E79. From what i can tell we are either under the library or dining room. We are also across from Guest Services. Is this a bad spot?? both are carpeted so there wont be no noise. and you are not across from guest services- they are actually around the corner from you- you will have to go out your room -turn right and go to the elevator area to get to the guest services Edited April 7, 2010 by serene56

tenmile Posted April 9, 2010 #1747 Share Posted April 9, 2010 We are booked on the Star Princess A748 in the aft section--an oceanview with 2 portholes and just outside is the Terrace Pool. seguincruiser Posted April 11, 2010 #1748 Share Posted April 11, 2010 This is our fourth cruise and first time for balcony. Anyone know anything about 7183 on the Destiny. I'm hoping this is a good experience so DH will want to do balcony on future cruises. If bad its back to the dark caves for us (inner).

I'm hoping this is a good experience so DH will want to do balcony on future cruises. If bad its back to the dark caves for us (inner). you went from an inside cabin to a suite cabin. (you get priorty check in with that so no waiting in lines to board) thats the only perk you get for this suite. The cabin has a tub instead of a shower. cabin is sandwiched between cabin space and away from public areas-- you should have no noise issues. seguincruiser Posted April 11, 2010 #1750 Share Posted April 11, 2010 Thanks for the info. We only booked this cabin for the VIP check-in. On another board we heard a lot about the cabannas on HMC and wanted to get in line early. LOL Probably could have done this with regular balcony but now no stress. DH and I are going for our 20th anniversy and decided spend a little and enjoy ourselfs.
