Tram on Castaway Cay

They offer a tram from the ship to the "main" area (ie family beach) and then there is another tram from the main area to the adult beach. The walk from the ship to the family area is short so taking the tram is not really needed.

The walk from the main area to the adult beach is longer, so we normally take the tram. It is walkable though, but keep in mind you are walking along an old runway so it can be quite sweltering an nothing to break up your view as you look down the runway.

Even with taking the Tram, it is a good walk before you get to the first tram area. But, I would also join the rest of the gang here and say if you can walk, do the walk - it is so beautiful. Walking out to the stingray swim is a LONG walk though - so make sure you leave plenty of time to get there if you are going that far.

Definitely walk to the family beach/main area unless someone in your party has trouble walking.

The walk to the adult beach gets a little boring along the long "runway". We were walking when a small golf cart with cast members and stopped to ask if we wanted a ride. We gladly accepted and again felt like celebrities given the wonderful treatment we had during the entire cruise. :)

We've been there 8 times and have yet to take the tram.It is just so much as you are getting off the ship and walking right to the beach,we just never got around to it.And upon our return to the ship,we of course wanted to slow it down a little.
