Oddly for such a small ship, we still haven't met. Course it would be easier if I knew your name...and we were at the same dinner table last night, LOL. You were at the other end so we didn't meet.

Got to tea yesterday but was late...we got up close and personal with Montserrat.

Anyway Blackbird, if you want to get together over a coffee, let me know. At least you do know my name!

Carolyn

LOL yes and her name is Venus and she left me a rose tonight...

Long STRANGE dinner with the Hotel Manager Joerg Grossmann... The lady between me and the hotel manager was asking questions like what is wrong with one night stands with the crew..... She is somewhat dating the ex-piano player from the Pride... She is a horse rancher from Colorado.

After a 2 1/2 hour dinner I have given up the any plans for seeing the show and it off to bed..

Marja,

I just sent you an email to try and help you with the resizing and posting photos here in CC. If you are confused by my instructions, then I will teach you while onboard the Pride crossing in less than 2 weeks!! Bring your laptop ! :D

Carolyn my name is Bill Sterner. And yes tea time was wonderful yesterday. I was sitting by the door to the open deck and loved watching Montserrat as it went by...

There is some kind of sailing school around here. Twice today I have seen kids learning to sail. The smaller ones have a 12' row boat with a sail. The larger (from what I can see) have a 18' true sailer. Fun things to watch.

My favorite place on the ship...I absolutely love to hang out there, especially when underway. I just turned an unbecoming shade of green looking at the photo. I'm glad you are protecting the Sky Bar BB...I know the CC cruisers-to-come are most appreciative!

Lucky guy!

Jane

Sorry GL I have not seen him since Monday. OK he was the show last night but I did not go.

Today the Internet was out until after lunch. This morning I did a two hour train trip around 2/3 of St. Kitts. They bused us the rest of the way back to the ship. Very good. Ok the train did have the major shakes at times.... But the upper deck was covered but open to the air.

Blackie

Happy to hear you are having a great time. You'll have a fun table tonight with "Mr. Broadway" Eric.

Many thanks for relaying my message to Miss Barbara. We'll enjoy her on our Pride Crossing as she's flying into Miami on March 18th

and will board with us on Monday.

And thanks for taking time to post on the board!:p

Have you signed up for many of the SB excursions during this cruise? If so, I would be most interested in hearing your opinion of how well organized they are and the pricing. Our trip in December is to the Caribbean as well and we enjoy organized tours for the most part if they're well run and not too crowded .

For the most part the tours are well done. I had my tour in Nevis canceled because of it was on a lobster boat and it was broke. :( Did a train tour on St. Kitts and it was good. Got another one on Virgin Gorda.

I am pissed and will be cancelling my St. Crios tour. We just got a notice of command performance before some bureaucrat before we can go ashore there.

except from I am a little surpriced  You did not take the lobster tour?

I thought you love lobster :D

If you have a chance to pas by the burreaucracy go and see the Lawaetz family museum an old Danish Estate placed in butifull landscape.

Enjoy your trip.

Food note never order the Soft Potato Gnocchi with Asparagus and asparagus Butter... Everybody thought I was on a diet. There were only 5 small Gnocchi on this main course. And the Asparagus butter was not too good.

Sad to say my room stewardess is dropping off things for the next cruise... :(

BB, Does a SB representative go on the tours with the passengers? Was there a good variety of tours from which to choose? Do you think the pricing is fair for what you get?

Thanks for taking the time to continue posting while enjoying your cruise :)

I can only speak of the Caribbean but Seabourn rarely places a rep on their tours. I know on the Zip Line tour they had one, but not the more normal "safe" tours.

As a sidenote: I will not be returning to the small Seabourn ships. They do not offer a dining option for single me like RSSC does. During my first cruise I did not do hosted tables and ate alone. I really do not like eating alone. On this cruise, I tried the hosted tables and found them 2 1/2 hours of torture. I am back eating alone. I really liked the open seating on the RSSC Mariner where I could go down WHEN I felt like it and a group table was easy formed with people that wanted to join a group. Dinner at these tables was a reasonable 1 1/2. Because the evening meal is very important to me, the small Seabourn ships are not a good fit for me. Maybe the new ships will be different...

After lunch update. :)

Have lunch with the nice editor@cruisecritic.. :) Because of the flat seas, the Captain is going to open up the Marina from 2-4...

Forced I tell you Forced was I to do the dinner @ 2 tonight. :D A waiter twisted my arm until I said yes....

Poor editor,,, she wants to do both a quick trip into Nevis and a Marina......

Blackie

I am soooo sorry your dining and dinner meals have not worked out.

Have you "hosted" your own table? Perhaps for 4? I agree that the dinner and evening meal is most important on a Seabourn ship. Many evening's I invite my friends to dine and decline a "hosted table" invitation. Please try this~~~

Again, I am so sorry for your disappointment.

Blackbird, I am sorry to hear of your decision to not sail on the triplets again. :( The dining experience on Seabourn is, arguably, the "main event." Have you talked to the Maitre D' when he is not busy at dinnertime and told him what you posted here? I would think he would do everything possible to fufill your request.

I will miss reading your points of view, your sense of humor and last but not least your  emoticons! Blue skies and calm seas on all your future sailings and don't foget to give the triplets new big sisters a try! :) :D

P.S. I just now saw Pinkie's post and think it might be a good idea for you to try. I hope it works out for you.

I somewhat understand BB's point about the hosted tables although my viewpoint is the exact oposite. A friend of mine ( a referral, actually) tried Seabourn solo recently and loved everything except hosted table dining. He felt it was too rigid (he preferred to linger in the Club and enjoy a couple of drinks until 8 PM or so & hosted tables always start at 7:30 or 7:45 PM). And he felt the dinners dragged on too long, often forcing him to miss the evening's entertainment. So he decided to dress appropriately for cocktails, go to his suite and "order in" for dinner and then hit the decks again for show, casino or whatever. It worked for him. I, on the other hand, look forward to the hosted dinner since it allows/forces me to meet other passengers and (usually) have a good time. Since I don't care for the post-dinner shows it doesn't matter if we sit around all night drinking and talking. Different strokes...
