Heres something fun, hopefully it works, yes i have nothing better to do then do these surveys but they can be interesting to read. ..

answer the following questions ..

1- what was your 1st cruise ? 2003 on celebrity mercury from san francisco, we went to monterey, catalina island and cabo

2- how many times have you cruised and where ? 4 times total,

3 times to the mexican riveria and 1 time to the caribbean ( western)

3- what is your dream cruise ? tahiti south pacific from san francisco or anywhere in CA ,, or of course if I was rich a world cruise,

4- what is your favorite cruiseline and why ? its hard to pick, i liked them all, carnival was good for the shows and nightlife,, NCL i liked the freestyle dining , and things for kids to do, celebrity the service was top notch ,,

5- your favorite thing to eat on a cruise ? or something you look forward to? all the different dinner choices, i love to go on cruises and try something new

6- the best shore excursion youve booked through the cruiseline ?

snorkeling in cozumel, the rest were overpriced

7- best upgrade / ship credit youve ever gotten ? never got any upgrades but the most ship credit weve gotten is 100$ total, for 2 of us

8- any cruises booked now ? yes 14 day hawaii from san diego on infinity

9- favorite thing about cruising in general ? to see all the different ports, relaxing, not having to cook or clean, and meeting all the nice people onboard,

10- would you recommend cruising to friends /co workers etc ? I do all the time, they tell me i should become a travel agent LOL

11- worst cruise experience? onboard ? onshore etc? worst was the tour we took in PV in the jungle no one said to wear bugspray and i got bit about 100 times on my legs..

and also seeing people on cruises at the pursers desk complaining about the stupidist things, and they always wait til the cruise is almost over, like so they dont have to pay their bill or something .

12- best thing that has happened to you on a cruise ? meeting a lot of great wonderful people that we still keep in touch with...

13- your highest cruise bill onboard...? ouch ,, ours was 2800 but that was everything, we got money out at the casino for the ports, for cash and everything .. so that wasnt too bad for 8 days . :o

14- have you ever won anything on a cruise ?

we won 1000$ in nov on the star on a nickel slot machine,, that was pure luck we usually dont win anything

and we won a NCL pen, and magnet, and keychain whoo hooo

15- best entertainer /show on a cruise ?

nothing has beaten the R rated midnight comedy on carnival, it was hyseterical, i loved it ,,,

11- worst cruise experience? onboard ? onshore etc? Ermmm.... Well my last cruise there was a couple on my table for dinner an they didn't even dress up for the formal nights the man just wore the same t-shirt for the casual nights and the formal nights.

 

12- best thing that has happened to you on a cruise ? meeting a lot of great wonderful people that I still keep in touch with

 

13- your highest cruise bill onboard...? I don't know because I don't pay for it my dad does.

 

14- have you ever won anything on a cruise ?

On the Grand Princess I won 2 luggage straps in one of the quizzes also I won a bag full of stuff from P & 0 Cruises. On RCCL i won an octopus keyring and a rucksack.

 

15- best entertainer /show on a cruise ? Don't know because I don't usually watch the entertainers and the shows.

...2x total; one to Bermuda and another to Miami, Key West, & Cozumel...Upcoming cruise #3 to just about everywhere in Southern Caribbean :)

...Anything unusual... like a European or Panama Canal

...Carnival is always a fun time, but for me the service was better on RCCL so it's a toss-up

...I will eat just about anything that is being put in front of me... As long as I'm not the one cooking, bring it on! And I do love that free 24 hr ice cream on Carnival YUMMMM

...Snorkling in Bermuda with unlimited rum punch on the way back... :p

...Never have gotten upgraded or credit :( But for upcoming cruise, i was able to use past guest code and got a 4C for the price of a 4A

...Yep!!! Carnival 7 night Southern Caribbean from PR going to St Thomas, Dominica, Barbados, St. Lucia, & Antigua

 

9- favorite thing about cruising in general ?

Looking out on the ocean at night with the wind through your hair and not having any land in sight is what really makes me feel like im "miles away from ordinary" Nothing says peace and relaxation like a cruise

 

10- would you recommend cruising to friends /co workers etc ?

...I have plenty of times! I'm still convincing friends to go on the one I have booked already. So far 9 of us and possibly growing to 15!!!!

 

11- worst cruise experience? onboard ? onshore etc?

...Nothing really bad; just having a bad waiter on Carnival who would forget what tablemates ordered or forget to bring someones entree out.... It ended up becoming a joke "Hmmf... who will be his victim for tonight?!?!"

...Getting placed with great tablemates who we tried to keep in contact with

...Never was too high; for myself maybe like a couple of hundred since I try to book excursions outside of the ship and only spend $$ on drinks really!

12- Best thing happened on a cruise = Meeting a newlywed couple from Switzerland who are now internet friends - we plan to visit them and get them to come to TX and stay with us.

14- I have won 2 gold (plastic) Carnival Cruiseship trophies - I love trivia.

 

15- Best entertainment was Damian Brell in the Piano Bar on the Conquest.

1. 1998 Disney Magic, it was awesome!

 

2. 11 or 12 :confused: , it's hard to remember all the short ones. We've cruise Hawaii, Bahamas, Alaska, Baja, Mexican Riviera, Pacific Coastal.

 

3. My dream cruise? There are several. We are planning to cruise Italy and Croatia next year (08). We would also like to one day cruise Tahiti, the Orient, the Baltics and would love to cruise Alaska again, a one way with added land days.

 

4. That's a hard question for me to answer, different ships are suited for different cruises. We also don't want to limit ourselves to only one line, variety makes it more interesting. We're not the type to have to have everything familiar and definitely not the type that has to have newer, larger, shinier. Our favorite cruise, to date, was on the oldest ship we've sailed, that was American Hawaiian Independence. That was a ship you either loved or hated and we had a very wonderful time onboard.

 

5. The very best meal we've had on any ship was on NCL Star, in the Soho Restaurant, we had a tasty steak (don't ask me what the type was, I'm typically not a meat eater!) an awesome pate and my husband had a very succulent lobster. It was 100 times better than any dining room lobster. I loved a breakfast item on QM2, it was like a granola cereal, yet soaked until soft, not crunchy. I ended up eating it every morning. On the Am Hawaiian Independence, they had the best fruit I've ever eaten in my life.

 

6. We steer clear of ship sponsored excursions, learning the hard way to book our own. We did have one snorkeling trip in Hawaii that was a lot of fun, purchased with onboard credit we got because they messed up our reservation.

 

7. Our first cruise, Disney upgraded us from an interior to an ocean view. American Hawaiian put us in a larger cabin because they messed up. Both were wonderful. Nothing since then :rolleyes:

 

8. Just a little weekend cruise this Labor Day, hoping to book our Italy cruise onboard then!

 

9. I love seeing my Type A personality husband actually do nothing at all. It's great to see him so relaxed that he can take a nap on a lounge chair. We love the ocean and go up on deck at night, when no one else is there, it's beautiful!

 

10. I have become the go-to person at my work and my husband has me answer questions for clients all the time. Would I be a travel agent, sure! But it would have to be in addition to my present job (too many perks to leave!).

 

11. That would have to be our one and only Carnival cruise. The food was better than we expected and the photographers were better than many other cruise ships. But, it was the only time I've ever wanted to get off a ship, the sooner the better. Not knocking Carnival as a whole, it was a very old ship and I understand the newer ones are nicer. We won't be trying them out again.

 

12. So many great memories, it's hard to pinpoint just one. I have to say, our first cruise was quite impressive, I hardly had my mouth closed the whole time, I was in awe of everything.

 

13. Probably the Hawaii cruise we took without the kids, the onboard bill wasn't too bad, we did have several spa visits. But, we took some very expensive shore tours on our own and do not regret it for an instant.

15. In 2002, we cruised Hawaii on NCL Star and spent almost every evening at the piano bar listening to Roger Carr, we even bought his CD. The entertainment on QM2 was nice, the singers far better than most cruise ships, the show more professional. Disney has a great lineup on their cruise, great family entertainment.

11- worst cruise experience? onboard ? onshore etc? I guess the only thing bad about my first cruise was that I got extremely sea sick. I was nauseous almost the entire time.... even with prescription medication. I will definitely stock up on many different options before my next cruise.

 

12- best thing that has happened to you on a cruise ? I took my mom for her 65th birthday, so getting a week away to bond with her was priceless.

13- your highest cruise bill onboard...? Mine was about $400 for 7 days, not too bad at all.

4- what is your favorite cruiseline and why ? I have done RCCL and NCL- liked them both for different reasons so I will say they are tied.

5- your favorite thing to eat on a cruise ? I liked the pool-side barbecue on the Dream. The chicken was great.

6- the best shore excursion youve booked through the cruiseline ? We have done only one through the ship and it was snorkeling in Cozumel on the Caribbean Princess- it was good.

9- favorite thing about cruising in general ? The utter relaxation of it. Before our first cruise I had really forgotten what it feels like to absolutely relax and forget the hassles of daily life.

Parasailing in St. Thomas...AMAZING! (that's not much of an excursion though...haha) I liked swimming with the dolphins and snorkling...

9- favorite thing about cruising in general ? To lay out, relax..sipping my martini and listening to the bands play...meeting new people and playing the pool-side games, Oh gosh I love it ALL.

11- worst cruise experience? NCL in May 0f 2005. We booked a 10-day cruise on the Western Carib and it was Rainy for 7 days ...lots of excursions were cancled and I couldn't do the rock climbing...The main thing I look forward to is the SUN so that was a bummer..

Summer of 1984 – CCL Tropicale 7 night Mexican Riviera

 

2- how many times have you cruised and where ?

4 times – Mexican Riviera; Greek Isles and Turkey; San Diego, Catalina, and Ensenada; and Mexican Riviera (Honeymoon cruise).

 

3- what is your dream cruise ?

Pretty much any LONG cruise to somewhere warm. Hawaii, South Pacific, Caribbean, Mediterranean. A world cruise would be awesome too!

 

4- what is your favorite cruiseline and why ?

I’m going to say Carnival, since two of my four cruises have been on CCL, and I’ve enjoyed them both. My cruises on other lines (Admiral Cruises which is defunct and Eprotiki) were shorter cruises, and so I realize it’s comparing apples to oranges.

 

5- your favorite thing to eat on a cruise ?

I love the Escargot and the Lobster – um not at the same time though.

 

6- the best shore excursion youve booked through the cruiseline ?

Swimming with the Dolphins (booked on our upcoming cruise – I can’t wait!)

 

7- best upgrade / ship credit youve ever gotten ?

On our upcoming cruise we booked a 4A Inside Guarantee, and our TA took advantage of the 12 days of Christmas sale that Carnival was doing and got us a drop in fare AND a bump to a 5A ocean view.:D

Yes – 7 night Mexican Riviera on Carnival Pride (anyone seeing a pattern here?;) )

 

9- favorite thing about cruising in general ?

Being out on the ocean, and relaxing in a way I just can’t seem to do on land, and being so completely pampered by the staff.

On my Greek Isles cruise. the Cruise Director was AWFUL. She made these endless, boring announcements constantly. On one occasion she went on, and on, and on about the theme nights and blah, blah, blah. One theme night was “Greek Night” (since it was a Greek Islands cruise). She said we should wear something the colors of the Greek Flag, or something we bought in Greece, and jokingly said “or Togas.” (Yes, I know Togas are Roman, not Greek, but that’s what she said.)

 

12- best thing that has happened to you on a cruise ?

On my Greek Isles Cruise, showing up to Formal Night Dinner with about 8 of the other girls in my tour group, well made-up, nicely accessorized – IN TOGAS. We received a standing ovation from guests and staff alike as we entered the dining room. (I guess we weren’t the only ones who found the cruise director annoying.)

I honestly don’t remember.

 

14- have you ever won anything on a cruise ?

A few dollars in quarter slot machines.

There was a magician I remember from my Ensenada cruise, who was pretty awesome. That was 17 years ago and I still remember him, so he must have been good.

1) First cruise: SS Ariadne, 1968 (200 passengers!

 

2) How many: 111 to date, 3 more scheduled

 

3) Dream cruise: French polynesia on the Paul Ganguin, or the Baltics on Regent

 

4) Favorite line: Regent for the small ships, amazing cabins, food and service

 

5) Favorite food: Don't have one really, but love the made to order meals at the specialty restaurants on most lines

7) Best upgrade was from single inside to a full suite on Adventure of the Seas several years ago. Tied with upgrade to JS for my honeymoon in December from standard balcony on Jewel of the Seas.

11) Worst ever was the Veracruz in the early 80s. Ceiling tiles were ruined, they served food on melamine plates in the dining room (calling it food is a stretch) and the disco was a boom box on deck:eek:. Other than that, have had several cruises where kids ran the show and these were pretty bad!

 

12) Was invited to model in a fashion show on the Star Princess about 15 years ago; selected my own outfit and made a grand entrance down the huge staircase. Lots of fun!

1-1984; Commodore cruise lines

 

2-20 plus cruises; most of the Caribbean, Mexico, Transatlantic, Panama Canal and Alaska

 

3-Dream cruise: probably Australia or Asia.

 

4-Favorite cruise line: NCL above all others. Next for service and food, HAL, but lacks activities.

 

5-favorite food: probably the eggs bene on NCL, followed by cold soups. The salad bar in the Lido buffet on HAl was wonderful. Not a huge selection but very fresh. The meats at dinner were also best on any cruise so far.

 

6-favorite shore excursion via the ship: we have done so few and so many years ago, it is hard to remember, but I guess the rafting trip in Ocho RIoa.

 

7-Best upgrade: never really gotten one to speak of.

 

8-yes, I have one booked; it's a group cruise doing the Mex Riv the end of Sept. We should have a wonderful time.

 

9-favorite thing about cruising: total relaxation and doing what you want, when you want.

If I didn't I guess I wouldn't be in business too long. LOL

 

11-We haven't had too many bad experiences, but one comes to mind whenever the subject comes up: tiny cabin, we couldn't hardly pass each other; terrible table mates, so bad we asked to have our table changed and it was a 5 day cruise with 3 days of rain and one day of fog.

 

12-best thing that happened: It is just a little thing, but on the Sun last April, I sat down to play slots and across the top of the machine it read "happy birthday Nita" It really made my day.

 

13-I am not sure, but I think our highest bill was our 10 day sailing on the Jewel. It was about $1000.00. We figure roughly $100 per day.

 

14-Well winning something is a matter of what you mean. I have won in the casino a couple of nights (put it all back though) we have won things like changange, book marks, cozies, etc playing trivia. never won anything big.

 

15-I think the best entertainment was back in the days when NCL had a Broadway production on every ship. We saw, among others, Westside Story.
