Buying a New Bathing Suit for a Cruise....

I always dread it. So, I have to share this with you all. I am a full figured gal and have a hard time finding really cute suits. Well, a friend on another community board told me about this company out of Michigan that has a wide selection of suits in over 25 different color patterns. I ordered a one piece suit, matching skirt and shirt cover-up top that ties around the waist. It came in the other day and I am blown away on how nice it is. And the best part is if you are hard to fit, you can call their 800 number and they can take your measurements and custom fit the suite. At $137 for a swim suit it is a bit pricy but really not a whole lot more then good suits in department stores. I loved it so much I ordered another suit with cover-up in their Arizon fabric...the first was Glam. It too should come in for that I can take both on my upcoming Mexican Riveria cruise

Here is a link to their website. http://www.exelnt.com/

Hello,

Ebay has some really nice plus size swimwear as well. Just make sure you purchase from an established seller with good feedback and buy a swimsuit that is new with the tags.

I'm a "Venus" girl. Love their suits because you can get different sizes for top/bottoms plus a wide variety of styles. I got my sister hooked on them too. Now when I order, Venue has me on file so I don't have to even tell them the size and style I want. I have 8 Venus suits now and will never buy from anyone else as long as Venus stays around. Suits are so nice and fit so good. Love them.

The first place I posted the info was on the cruise fashion board ;) But realized that a lot of folks only come to the Cruise Line boards of their next cruise booked so decided to post here too :)

I, for one, thank you. I went to Macys last week to look at suits. Very depressing. I think they make them for 16 year old girls, and not for the woman who has had three kids. Not flattering for many over 50, thats for sure. I will enjoy looking at this website.

Thanks! Cyberswim has some nice suits too. I found one for my upcoming cruise at Walmart of all places. It is my favorite suit right now. I absolutely love it!

Im going to check out the site you mentioned. I hate buying suits in a store but love bathing suits!

I'm happy to hear good news about Venus! I keep looking through their catalogues in disgust at their tiny size 2 models, but notice that some of their suits have sizing to fit me. And I like the mix and match option with tankini tops and bottoms. I have been hesitant to try one due to a variety of reasons, but mostly due to:is their size 14 or 16 really a 14 or 16, or is it called a 14 and really fits a size 10!

Thanks! I think I'm going to look at that first site suggested too!

I just got a catalog from a company called "As We Change" www.aswechange.com. Most of their suits don't start until size 10 and go up to 16-18. (How did they know I was in my 40's, LOL)? They have regular clothes, too, but I really like some of the swimsuits and cover-ups. Looks like they start around $59. Just another option. Haven't ordered from them myself, but some of their suits are beautiful.

I finally found one the other day and though I'm not full figured, it's hard to find one for a 48 yr old woman who's had 2 kids. Like stoneharborlady said, they seem to make bathing suits only for teens (or all the way up to age 25). Two piece bikinis don't look to good on me.

Venus sizes run very true to normal sizes. I wear a 6 pant and I order a Small (see chart on attached link) moderate cover bottom.

This link is for their sizing. It gives measurements and the different cuts. It is awesome. Check it out!
