Where does the ship's drinking water come from?

On our upcoming short 4 day cruise I was wondering if I should bring DS his own gallon of water (nursery water with added fluoride). He is 1 and I don't give him juice, only fresh fruit, water and milk. Where does the ship's drinking water come from?? I don't give him bottled water because usually those do not have the fluoride he needs.

What do you think?

From what I understand, the water is perfectly fine to drink from the bathroom sink. But when I brought my children as infants, I always brought bottles of water with me. Not the nursery water cause that comes in gallons and I figured they could go one week without flouride. :)

I always just let my twins drink the ship tap water - including when we cruised for a week at 13 months. We do all organic at home, but for vacations we're flexible. I wouldn't bother. If you are concerned, you might check with your pediatrician. That's what I did, and he said there was nothing to worry about as long as we stuck to the water and food on the ship and at resorts.

Best,

Mia

I cruised in November, 2003 (so post 9/11, but pre liquid restrictions on planes) and my daughter was still on formula. I didn't think twice about bringing aboard 2 gallons of nursery water along with the container of powdered formula.

I had no issues with Princess, but like I said, I have no idea if there would be a security issue now.

It does not look like anyone answered your question, so I will. Where does the water come from? Your ship is floating in it. That's right, the ships use the heat from the engine to boil the ocean water. The steam is then condensed, and that is the fresh water you will find on the ship.
