Please recommend comfortable and stylish walking shoes

Recommended Posts

You will get many replies, and for different brands, but you have to find what is good for YOU not someone else. Go to a good shoe store(Walking's if you have one),and try on several pairs that you like and that feel good to you then keep them on for a bit to see how they feel.Go at the end of the day when your feet may have swelled some.Try several different types, brands etc.,and then you will know. Most of the shoe companies make a good walking sandal as well as a good dressier sandal that can be worn with dresses etc. Good luck.

I heard so many raves about Mephisto for so long and finally had to try a pair. They're fabuous. I also got some of their sandals in London in May, and they are more comforable than sneakers. It's an investment to be sure, but I think it's well worth it.

Happy travels to you,

Donna

Recently, my feet and legs had started to hurt after short walks so I got a prescription from my doctor and went to the specialist's. Along with my orthotic, I purchased a stylish pair of orthopaedic shoes and was surprised to discover that my insurance plan paid more than half the cost of the shoes.

Walked for hours...no foot pain...but best of all, no throbbing legs every evening after long days walking and shopping in Venice et al...

I bought a pair of Borns from Denmark for our upcoming Venice - Barcelona cruies in September. When I put them on for the first time my feet went ahhhhhhhh! They have some really awesome styles and there is something for everyone.

if you live in the US, any major department store has a WIDE selection of stylish walking shoes that go great with capris and shorts without that look that you dont want. I myself have bought 2 pairs for an upcoming 12 night cruise on the med and they are super comfortable. NATURALIZER also makes sandals/shoes designed for comfort, as well as EASYSPIRIT. But most designer shoes now have this NEW type of "walking" shoe.

Was on Millie, Barcelona to Venice June 26, 2004 with my Mephisto's. I found them at Nordstrom. They are an open toed slide. We were away for 3 weeks, I wore them every day, am 40 something and my feet felt great considering I have a quasi hammer toe and a slight pronation. They are very stylish and worked well with a dress as well as shorts or slacks. My shoes racked up serious mileage on this vacation and still feel great. There are some very stylish shoes available depending on what you are looking for.

Am booked again, Horizon to Bermuda July 2005

Hi Mad4cruising, I am looking at this shoe as I type. My Mephisto's are a wedge style open toe, open back, slide. On the bottom of the shoe, in German, French, and English it says "cork footbed with reflex area stimulation.

They are very lightweight. I no longer have the box but I will share the group of numbers inside the shoe. They are...8A3021352

They did come in the color beige, black, and red. I have beige. The original list price was 120.00 but I found mine on sale for 80.00.

Comfort rules!

Semetz, thanks so much for the information. I have been trying to find the shoe on the internet based on the style number, but I am having a difficult time locating it. Just wondering, does the shoe have a very low wedge and just a plain front strap to hold the foot in? Thanks again!
