dmndlil Posted September 5, 2007 #251 Share Posted September 5, 2007 Are teenagers allowed to watch the Quest? how about the comedians? Particularly, a 17-y-o. They say they are adult only.... They do not ID anyone so if you don;'t mind your 17 y-o going then why not?

courtneyMC Posted September 7, 2007 #253 Share Posted September 7, 2007 My DH is a freak about the smell of cig smoke. i knwo we won't be able to hang out in the casino and probably some (all??) of the lounges in the evening will be smoky, but what about the restaurants, common areas, etc. I read one lounge will be No Smoking in '08, but that's one place... if we spend a week walking around smelling smoke he's never ever going to let me plan a vacation again! I'd rather know not to go than to plan it thinking it will be ok and he'll be p.o'd at me all week b/c it's smoky and we're miserable. thanks! also, i'm sure this is on the thread somewhere but i'm having trouble finding it- I saw speculation at the beginning of the thread that there would be flat screens after dry dock last spring. Is there somewhere to see exactly what did get updated after dry dock? thanks again!
fairbrot Posted September 7, 2007 #254 Share Posted September 7, 2007 I have a large group I'm cruising with (45) for our wedding in St. Thomas. I would like everyone to get together for the sail away - with drink in hand. Where is a good location for us to all meet after muster?

ckrobyn Posted September 11, 2007 #256 Share Posted September 11, 2007 I haven't read through this entire thread, so I'm sorry if this question has previously been asked - but when is the Murder Mystery dinner?? As well, is the theme for the MM the same on all ships? I don't want to go if it's the same theme as the one on Radiance that I went to last year.... phtktz3 Posted September 15, 2007 #264 Share Posted September 15, 2007 Karaoke is held in the Lotus Lounge on Deck 5, right above the Savoy Theater. I believe it's every evening. There is also a special area for teen karaoke, in the teen area on Deck 12, I believe. Thanks for the info

courtneyMC Posted September 23, 2007 #267 Share Posted September 23, 2007 does anyone know what the 'entertainment complex' in the middle of deck two is? It's further back than the theater. Most of the rooms I'm looking at are close to that and i'm wondering what it is for noise/smoke concerns. thanks!
courtneyMC Posted September 23, 2007 #268 Share Posted September 23, 2007 I'm posting this here since I am looking at the Mariner of the Seas and I hope someone can help me figure out what room would work for my family. I'm really stumped now. I've looked over all the deck plans and it looks like there aren't that many rooms with 4 separate beds other than interiors. I don't care if one is a pull out couch, but there would also have to be a 3rd pullman bunk. My kids will not sleep well in the same bed. I'm seeing lots of interior rooms, but those make me worried b/c of the noise since you have neighbors all around in some cases- not like on the outside where you only have side neighbors but not behind you also. Also, It can't be near the bars- noise and drifting smoke. If you're a family of 4 who has sailed on a voyager class, what class room would you recommend? I even looked at junior suites, but even most of those seem to just have the pull out couches. Or do DH and I suck it up and I sleep in the pull out with DD and we have the queen split into twins for DH and DS? Not exactly how we want to sleep on vacation! I'm SO frustrated! I really want to go on RCL but it doesn't seem very set up for a family of 4. help, please!
momofsamandeden Posted September 23, 2007 #269 Share Posted September 23, 2007 Have you looked at the D1 and inside combos on deck 9 aft? We currently have both of these reserved for a group sailing and everyone with children is fighting over them. Also there are some connecting promenades that are away from the bars etc (not that it should matter since you are enclosed with the window.) Those are small but I have had several people rave about how great they were for the price of two rooms for a family of four.

familycruzer Posted September 24, 2007 #271 Share Posted September 24, 2007 I had a JS on Voyager and we were able to put a roll away bed in the cabin. We took the bed made into a queen, my DD had the sleeper and my son took the roll away. The previous poster is talking about cabins ..9676 and 9681 OR 9376 and 9381. Thats a great combo, you get a balcony they get an inside with a connecting door.
kruisin' kim Posted September 24, 2007 #272 Share Posted September 24, 2007 Hey All!!! Just got off the ship yeaterday and it was everything from the boat to the weather to the ports to the food etc.... was awesome. One tip if I may.... Protofinos and Chops were exceptional in every way!!!! If I could only pick one, it would be Chops (I'm a steak lover). My friend would probably pick Portofino's. But like I said they were both excellent. You must have the eggplant appetizer at portofino's, the veal was great, too. My tip would be to call for reservations as soon as you are able to get into your room. I got right through to both of them, got the dates and times I wanted, no problem. I heard of others standing in long lines, being put on waiting lists and not getting in at all.... Hope this helps! Kim:p

I don't know about the noise / smoke situation of that area. Happy Sails! Rose
