Labadee location info

I work with a guy who is from Haiti and I mentioned that we had a stop there on our cruise. I know that Labadee is a privately owned resort for RCI but can anyone tell me what is was near?

My coworker was wondering where in Haiti it was because he didn't recognize the name.

Go to:

WWW.RSMAS.MIAMI.EDU/RCCL when you get there click on "Observations from Explorer of the Seas". Explorer is docked there today and it shows whee Explorer is on a map. You might be able to figure something out by looking at that and then looking at a map of Haiti.

Ladade is on the north shore, west of the city of Cap-Haitian. hope this helps

The Haitian Capital of Port au Prince is on the southern coast. Labadee is on the Northern coast. It's sort of a small penninsula.

That was from my chair on Hideaway Beach.

 

Simply cut-n-paste those coordinates into Google Maps and off you go!

If you are familiar with Google Earth, just type in "Royal Caribbean's Labadee" and it will take you right there. I used it to show DD where it was in relation to Port au Prince - she was afraid of the unrest there.
