FinelyRetired Posted May 15, 2007 #3 Share Posted May 15, 2007 Steamboatin: What a terrific, thoughtful effort and thread on your part! One many will use. I'm not too saavy with the computer. One site that I found easy to use that was posted here on CC is: weatherbase.com. Easy access, for even me, to avg yearly temps & precip for most cities in the world. Thanks again, Martha
Christen99 Posted May 15, 2007 #4 Share Posted May 15, 2007 You are my hero! We're doing our first cruise Jun 29th, and I am completely obsessed with travel info right now. My DH is starting to think I'm having an affair with the computer, but he's thankful I'm learning so much about our trip so that he can go along for the ride and enjoy himself. He can't stand travel research, he's burnt out by the time he gets home from work and doesn't want to look at another computer (he's a professional geek..I mean IT guy). nycgirl0618 Posted May 16, 2007 #8 Share Posted May 16, 2007 I just started planning for a cruise next year!! I love www.tripadvisor.com. Travellers give reviews on hotels and there is a message board that you can search for just about any information on any country. Every vacation I have ever booked is based on reviews from tripadvisor and I have never had any unexpected surprises. I've used it to find the best hotels, beaches, resturants and get general travel tips on the country I am going to. There is also a search engine that links to expedia, orbitz, etc.I never book a vacation without it. www.venere.com is great for getting rates on European hotels. However, I have noticed that I get better rates by calling the hotel directly. Anyone going to Venice should be on www.europeforvisitors.com. There is a section on Venice that is extremley comphrensive. www.weatherunderground.com is very helpful. You can find historical weather info for almost any country going back over 10 years. www.fodors.com and www.frommers.com are travel review guides that give great information. The message boards are also very helpful.

EggDropErin Posted May 19, 2007 #19 Share Posted May 19, 2007 I might have missed it, but I didn't see this one listed: http://www.kayak.com It's not a site selling airline tickets, but it tells you where to go to get the best rates. I love using them to search for airfare.
