tantine Posted May 16, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2007 Has anyone done this? We're booked on the Dawn leaving 6/16 in a minisuite (deck 11). Does booking through the Casino come with any added perks onboard? Also, when debarking in NY at the end, do we get any kind of preference - I need to get off asap for a function later that day. Thanks!

Thanks! Don't know if booking through the casino has added perks, but as for disembarking, you can do the express and carry your own luggage off. This is probably the quickest way, though so many do it now that it probably doesn't go as fast as it used to. But that might be your best option. Grandpaul Posted May 16, 2007 #3 Share Posted May 16, 2007 If you're a rated player, or big bettor, you can get a reduced price on your cruise if you go through the casino. Also, if you have a suite and have the use of a Concierge, you can get off the ship first if you carry your luggage.
2Cruise4Ever Posted May 16, 2007 #4 Share Posted May 16, 2007 Come join our roll call. Link to it is my signature. And, yes, you do get some perks: use of the concierge who can make dinner reservations for you, and priority tender tickets, etc. You're going to LOVE the Dawn. We can't wait to go back! Happy Sailing!! :D
CRUZIN TOM Posted May 16, 2007 #5 Share Posted May 16, 2007 If you have played before on NCL and have a players card. You will save 18% off of NCL's listed price. There is no discount on the taxes or the fees as they are already set. We booked our Alaska cruise this coming Aug thru them and saved about $500.00 for our Balcony cabin. :) Other tahn that there are noother perks thru the Casinos at Sea program. but 18% is quite a savings...:)
Stillfloatin' Posted May 16, 2007 #6 Share Posted May 16, 2007 Also, you will have a casino drink card waiting for you in your cabin.
swmrgrl Posted May 17, 2007 #7 Share Posted May 17, 2007 We rec'd an NCL Casinos at Sea Reward Certificate about 2 months ago. We haven't used it yet. Apparently my husband reached the Gold level in the Players Club Program - not exactly sure what that means. However the certificate is good for a free 7 day in a category AF - AG. Problem is it is limited to specific ships in the Caribbean. We were unable to use it for the Mediterranean and it is limited to the Caribbean only. The reasoning is there are more sea days in the Caribbean and less port days. Apparently you can upgrade the cabin category and cruise length but pay the difference. It is also dependent on availability. Hope this helps.

BettyNL Posted May 17, 2007 #10 Share Posted May 17, 2007 Last week on the Pearl, the last day of the cruise I received a call from the Casino that I was one of the "Top Ten"......... I also received the Purple Players Card. Does this make me eligible to book through the Casino?? Also, how is that done...... call NCL and tell them of my "status"??? swmrgrl Posted May 17, 2007 #11 Share Posted May 17, 2007 Since it is my hubby who does the gambling (does quite well) I don't know much about the various levels of Players Club. However, it may be worth your time to call the Casino number and find out what it offers.
goldmom Posted May 17, 2007 #12 Share Posted May 17, 2007 The telephone # for Casino's at Sea is 877-752-9625. Call them directly and ask them to give you rates for whatever cruise or cabin you're interested in, they will tell you if you're eligible for a discounted rate. If eligible, the discount will apply to all cabin levels including suites. Casino's at Sea then basically is your travel agent. They will also honor any specials or promotions that NCL has at the time of booking. Good luck, enjoy!
dupree1680 Posted May 18, 2007 #13 Share Posted May 18, 2007 I just booked the Norwegian Dawn for 8/25/07 through Casino Marketing. I was surprised when they told me I was entitled to a free cruise and all I had to pay were the taxes and port charges. However I upgraded to a balcony and the week is still very cheap. Although NCL is not my favorite line I always have a great time and the advantages of Casino at Seas is a good deal.

garycarla Posted July 26, 2007 #16 Share Posted July 26, 2007 ... yes, you do get some perks: use of the concierge who can make ...Happy Sailing!! :D Are you sure about this? Even if you are in a balcony or inside, you can use the Concierge? We have done one reduced cruise via Casino Marketing and about to do another. Only perk we got last time was "Free Drinks' while in casino, which as most know are NOT available normally.
Stillfloatin' Posted July 26, 2007 #17 Share Posted July 26, 2007 We just booked our Sun trip last month through Casino Marketing and were told the 18% was recently reduced to 17%. Still, it was a significant savings. Also, we have friends who are joining us for this cruise and have not previously sailed NCL, but are major gamers in Reno. I gave them the number to Casino Marketing, they were asked to fax over a win-loss statement from the casino they play at in Reno and were told, depending on the results, they can possibly qualify for the 17% discount or even better. They just did this last week, so I'll let you know when they hear back what NCL does for them.
kdg51 Posted July 26, 2007 #18 Share Posted July 26, 2007 I am assuming that if I earned about $75 off my onboard account with my points last cruise that I wouldn't qualify for any Casino discount? :D
CRUZIN TOM Posted July 26, 2007 #19 Share Posted July 26, 2007 As long as you were a player on NCL and especially if you earned $75.00 you will qualify. It took me 2 cruises to even earn $25.00 discount on my bill. The casino treats table players far worse than the slot players. My DW has had more points than me on the last 4 cruises. And I am at the tables for 4 times longer. Just no justice out there. As stated before the current discount is 17% off the basic cruise price, not counting taxes, port fees and the $140.00 built in charge for the cruise. This should apply to all cabins. We actually got price reduction when the prices dropped. but had to contact the Casino at Sea dept. This was after final payment.:)
kdg51 Posted July 26, 2007 #20 Share Posted July 26, 2007 Thanks Cruisin Tom....Glad I asked. Will call them for price before I put down my deposit. I thought that I needed to be a bigger spender to qualify. I only play pennies....guess I lost a lot of them :D and then I gave all the extras back. Never play the tables but I am addicted to that quarter tumbler and I got no points for the hundreds I left there. My TA gives me a good discount...if they are around the same are there any other advantages to booking through the Casino? kdg51 Posted July 28, 2007 #21 Share Posted July 28, 2007 What's the $140 charge built in for the cruise? Do I need my card number when I call or will they have that info? Saw my little pouch with my cards recently but can't recall where. I know they'll show up sooner or later.
CRUZIN TOM Posted July 28, 2007 #22 Share Posted July 28, 2007 The $140 is some sort of booking charge applied to every booking by NCL. The old site used to break this down, but is not shown on the new site for pricing.:)
kdg51 Posted August 5, 2007 #23 Share Posted August 5, 2007 Can't find where I put my NCL casino card. Do I need to give them ay numers from it to get a price? I'm assuming they would have a record of it somewhere?
goldmom Posted August 5, 2007 #24 Share Posted August 5, 2007 They can look you up without the number. It does make it easier if you give them the last ship you were on and the voyage date, although even without that, they can still look you up. Good luck! nyflush Posted August 5, 2007 #25 Share Posted August 5, 2007 I just checked on my points Thursday I gave my name and what ship I was on last she pulled me right up. When you book through the Casino you will have the free drink card its attached to your playing card in your room waiting, also they will send up a goodie plate and you will be invited to the casino VIP party for us it was in the star bar on the Dawn drinks and Sushi and other appertizers.
