Rome on a Sunday?

Is it ok? are most sites closed or busier than normal?

We were there a month ago today and had a great experience. According to our driver, traffic was less. We parked close to attractions. The only thing we really missed was the Sistine Chapel.

We will be there next month on a Saturday and Sunday. Our guide has told us Saturday will be best because of the influx of pilgrims to St. Peter's on Sunday.
