Excursions in Labadee

Recommended Posts

I will be sailing on Freedom of the Seas in July. Does anyone know if you need to book an excursion or can just enjoy there beach and lunch and pay for the water activities.

You can have a very enjoyable day on Labadee without doing any of the "excursions" offered. You can enjoy the beach, the barbeque lunch, and hike around the "island". We loved it when we were there in March.

Unless you want a cocktail on the beach, there is absolutely NO NEED to spend an extra dime on Labadee or Coco Cay! It's basically a "sea day", but on land! You can book some excursion or other, but it's certainly not required or needed! Labadee is a beautiful, relaxing beach--enjoy!

I see that there are "excursions" for the "Aqua Park" and for the "Water Slide". I figure that these are things that my kids might like.

The "Water Slide" excursion is listed as "At Your Leisure", so I guess it's an all day pass, but the "Aqua Park" is only one hour, so I'm guessing that they let the people in for an hour and then kick them out. Is my understanding correct?

The slide is available all day for a single fee. When you get to the beach you will check in and the kids will receive a wristband.

The water park is set up for one hour increments. Based on the activities and all the energy the kids will use up, one hour should be enough. Our two kids, ages 11 and 14, were ready for a break after their hour was up. The area is cordoned off with pontoon barriers and there are lifeguards. In addition, ALL the kids have to wear a lifejacket.

If your kids enjoy the water, they will have a lot of fun. We got a combo pass rate as we pre-purchased the slide. When we picked up the kid's wrist bands, we paid a fee to add-on the park. The best part is that the park is very close to the bar and the lunch pavilion. :)

When we were there a few weeks ago (on FOS), the water slides were closed for construction (bummed the kids out). The aqua park was $15 per person per hour (water trampoline and such)

We ended up just hanging out at the beach. Then taking a quick tram right to DRagon's Breath point (which was GREAT) and all of that was free. :D
