Transfers from London hotel to Dover port

Recommended Posts

We'll be spending a few days in London before transferring to Dover to the Regatta on Aug 11. Does anyone have information on getting from the city to Dover by car, train, taxi, etc? The transfers provided by Oceania are from the airport and are very expensive.

Thanks!

This topic was covered extensively in the "Britain" section last year--you may need to do a search to see where the info is now.

BTW, I used National Express to go from London to Dover, but I'm not sure you would want to be seen taking the bus to the Regatta!!

Happy Cruising

There are lots of recent questions about getting from London to all of the south coast ports on the British section . It should be a faq (maybe it is). So many people have the problem. You can look for taxis, I used the search engine '118me' and got some good quotes.

Victoria to London by train is very easy indeed. You get off at Dover Priory station and from there it is a five minute taxi ride to the ship - the taxi cost about £7 It was all very smooth and very easy.

We have taken the National Express from LHR to Victoria Station, and then from Victorian Station to Dover, twice. If you purchase your tickets online before leaving home you can save quite a bit. It worked out well for us. But we did take the cruise transfer from Dover to LHR at the end of the cruise... We thought that if there were a lot of people trying to get their suitcases onto the bus it could be a problem. We stayed at the East Lee Guest House in Dover, just a short walk from the bus drop off.

I'm glad this question was asked. I'm also trying to decide if we should spend one night in Dover after disembarkation, then head to London/Heathrow the next day and spend one more night near Heathrow.

I want to spend 2 or 3 nights in London before embarkation, and have been told to find a 3-night package deal for air and hotel, as it's less costly than trying to find a hotel.

I've been to London three times, but can't remember anything except Trafalgar Square. Duh!

I will do as suggested and search -

From those boards, i found a company called red hat travel. they have been great to deal with and are definitely the least expensive car service. not a limo, but oh well.

Where was Red Hat Travel - in London? I'm going to Google search and see if I can find them.
