narob Posted August 14, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 14, 2004 When we get on the ship, which restaurants require reservations and which are best to reserve? We will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary on the 15th and my birthday on the 22nd of September. Which is best for which and what are your favorite ones. Thanks in advance, for all your advice!!!
Rickey 88 Posted August 15, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 15, 2004 Both Toscana and Polo Grill require reservations in advance. There is no charge (unlike other lines), but we would not recommend just showing up and asking to be seated. Reservations are taken by the maitre d' on the day you board in the Terrace, but there will be a line. Getting through by phone is chancy, but if you are in a PH or above, your butler can take care of the details for you. Enjoy! We celebrated our 40th in Toscana in June.... Jancruz Posted August 15, 2004 #3 Share Posted August 15, 2004 My personal favorite is the Grand Dining Room (no reservations) followed by Toscana and Polo Grill..all food on board is fabulous and the hamburgers at Waves are the BEST!! Dont miss having one.. Jan *****
drwong Posted August 16, 2004 #4 Share Posted August 16, 2004 For a smaller, more intimate affair, I'd recommend the Polo for one celebration and Toscana for another. The GDR is great, but it's very open with few quiet areas to celebrate (or to get boisterous). Unless, of course, you want the entire dining room to join you in song! :-) Whereever you choose, let the maitre'd know that it's a celebration at least a day ahead - that way he can have the dessert staff prepare a special cake before the dinner rush. And let him know if there is anyone in the party with special diets - they can make a sugar-free or flour-free cake if need be. RLW
