All Things Enchantment of the Seas

Recommended Posts

Yes, we just got off a 4-night last month and there was one formal night. :)

We had an inside on deck 2. Yes there was a safe, but no fridge.

Oh by the way, here are my pics from last month:

Hi

Appreciate your pics have just booked for next year after cancelled cruise by Carnival should have been going on Celebration next Sept. Looks as if they did us a favour.

As usual the officers & crew were excellent. Everyone seems to really be happy on that ship. There were over 90 Diamond members on this cruise which started on September 10th therefore they opened a 2nd CL. Since I have read many rumors about Julian, probably the best Concierge in the entire RCCL fleet, I wanted to get the correct info directly from him. He recently returned to the Enchantment after vacation. He has been on the same ship for 7 years and has been thinking of making a move to look for new challenges. He hasn’t done anything about it since he enjoys the Enchantment so much especially the retuning Diamond guests. Presently the new ship Independence of the Seas is under construction and will have an all new crew. Julian plans to apply for the position of Concierge for ‘The Diamond Club’. I think the first regular cruise for the IOS will be from Southampton in mid May 2008. If he were to get that position he would not be leaving the EOS until a few months before she starts sailing. That is the latest info.

Thanks Jack for the Julian info. And I'm already booked on an Independence TA cruise as a diamond member. I must be psychic! :D

So, what happened with the 2nd CL? Did Julian manage the main one and someone else did the other? Just how did they work that out?

The 2nd CL was in the Viking Crown Lounge with the person who fills in for Julian when he is on vacation. It seemed like not many people used the other CL. I too have a TA booked on the Independence leaving Nov. 6, 2008. Does that mean I am also psychic?

Well! Yeah! :D

It was Carlos in the Viking Crown then. And it sounds like they didn't care if Diamond or Suite passengers used either one. I was afraid you were going to say that Diamonds were to use one and Suite passengers were to use the other. That sure wouldn't work for us.

Hello! We're very excited about our first RCL cruise on the EOS!

Question - Does Seattle's Best Coffee have frappuccino (frozen) type coffee drinks? Is there an extra charge? Is there an extra charge for Ben & Jerry's?

:) Thank you to everyone for all of the great info in this thread!!

I don't remember seeing any frozen drinks but I admit I wasn't looking for them. There is an extra charge for both places. If you are a C&A member you will have a discount coupon in your on board coupon booklet. The charge for coffee does include a pastry of your choice. If you don't want it, you can take it and give it to someone who does want it.

I really enjoyed reading this thread. I'm taking my sister on her first cruise in January '08 (the 7th). We were originally going on Explorer in October but had to postpone our trip and Enchantment wound up being our best choice for the time frame in which we had to travel. So, this while this is her first ever, this will be my first RCCL cruise on a non-Voyager class ship and I am so looking forward to it.

The good: solarium, Stage to Screen show, the RC singers and dancers especially Tiffany, current cruise director, current pool band, clean, beautiful, friendly, lots of shaded lounge chairs on the pool deck, formal night is now non-smoking in the casino, boarding in Fort Lauderdale is usually very fast with minimal lines

The bad: 4-5 days is never enough (but is still great)

The ugly: the piano bar is very smoky, and you have to walk through it to get to the non-smoking lounge for Kareoke, Quest, etc., the "recommended" fish tempura was more like beer battered fish fingers over asian vegetable medley!

HI when are you cruisin? My husband and I are leaving in 2 days!!!! Oct 18th on EOS. We are so excited and have been chatting with many others on our rollcall thread. I live just south of you, in Manatee County. I love the Tampa Bay Area! Atleast we do not have to fly in and stay the night before for cruising TEE HEE.

You will love RCI! We get coffee from Seattle's Best onboard and it is not too expensive or it is free, but it is just coffee everywhere else on board. I need my latte! AS far as ice cream the desserts on board are always enough for us- they are yummy. :D

Hi! We will be on the ship on October 8th. But we don't leave for 19 days. Are you going to stay in Fort Lauderdale for a few weeks before your ship sails? That would be fun to see the city, the beach, etc...

They have iced drinks, not frozen drinks.

Hmmm... The menu you posted shows they have frozen drinks. Blended drinks are the same as frozen drinks. ;) Iced drinks are ones that are poured over ice cubes and not put in the blender. It looks like the menu you posted shows blended and iced drinks.

I'm so excited! I will let you know how it is.

I'm still confused, though. A few posts up you said you were leaving in 2 days, but then you say you will be boarding a few days after I get off... Just wondering ;) That's why I thought maybe you would be in FLL for a few weeks.
