Within walking distance of cruise port??

We have never been to Road Town and we wonder if there are shops and bars near the cruise port? Is it nice? We are planning on a 1/2 day excursion and we are trying to figure out what to do with the rest of our day!!

 

Any help would be appreciated! :)

Yes, the dock is just at the edge of town. It's an easy walk to the main part of town (to do some shopping) or just stroll along the water front area where they have a series of craft shops. If your excursion is first, you might ask your guide to drop you off in town rather than take you back through the security area to the dock. Also, he or she may be able to tell you where to buy whatever you need.

There are a number of shops on Main St., the Crafts Alive Village on the water front and some jewelry shops near the cruise dock. There is a nice bar/resturant at the Village Cay Marina and Pusser's Bar on Waterfront Dr. as well as a few smaller places. All are easy walking distance from the pier.

 

BVI Welcome magazines are free, have plenty of information and can be found in many of the shops, pick one up, they include maps.

Very nice compact area . great burgers & drinks are available at Pussers... they also have a nice store.There are some of the usual ship type stores--jewelry etc, a craft market, spice & art shops & then some other local shops where I enjoyed shopping...everything seemed bright, light & friendly. Can't wait to get back to Tortola next Jan.on Jewel of the seas.

Can you walk from the ship to Pussers Bar? How far is it from where the ships dock? Thank you

Pusser's is less then a ten minute walk from the ship.
