The Bean Queen Posted May 3, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 3, 2004 We are taking the Conquest out of NO in July. We have scheduled a plantation tour with The Old River Road Plantation Adventure the day of our sailing. Because the tour runs from 8:00 until 2:00, we have to check out of our hotel before the tour. And it is too early to check onto the ship. So...here is the problem. They do not have enough room in the van for our (3 adults) luggage. The gentleman at the tour place said we could keep our luggage at their office during the tour. (We would actually have to leave it their the night before but that is not an issue) It is a kind offer but I am a bit nervous about leaving all our belongings in someone's office. Does anyone know of someplace on the pier to keep our luggage? Or do you feel it is safe to leave it with this company?? I know there are a few of you who live in or around NO so your input is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bean Queen The Bean Queen
Budget Queen Posted May 4, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 4, 2004 Drop it off at the dock, porters are on duty early and have your tour van pick you up there. Be certain your bags are properly tagged.
The Bean Queen Posted May 4, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted May 4, 2004 Are they there that early??? (7:00 ish) I had read somewhere else that they would not accept anything until around 11:00. The Bean Queen

The Bean Queen Posted May 7, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted May 7, 2004 Thanks Budget Queen for the contact information. I emailed them, but have not gotten a reply. I will be patient for a few more days and then try again. The Bean Queen
The Bean Queen Posted May 10, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted May 10, 2004 Hi again, Got a reply from the port authority. They 'discourage' any luggage check in prior to the disembarkment completion. He said approx. 10:30. Any other ideas?? The Bean Queen
Guest Posted May 10, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 10, 2004 Hotels usually have secure areas where they can store luggage short-term. Ask them if they can keept until you return from the tour.
The Bean Queen Posted May 19, 2004 Author #8 Share Posted May 19, 2004 I asked our hotel and they said yes. Thank you for the suggestion! Now I can stop worrying about that! The Bean Queen
