I have a four digit PIN that begins with a zero and did not have a problem in Europe. Is this from personal experience, or something you have heard about?

Having just retutned from several of those countries (all but Egypt and having used my ATM card) I can report that 4 digit pins work. I used to have one starting with a 0 but was told some time ago that it was not a good idea and I changed - no problem since.

Visa cards are generally more prevalently accepted in India than MC.
