WesC Posted July 10, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 10, 2007 We will have a bit of time in both ports to shop. Which one has the better "made in Alaska" gear? I am getting mixed reviews. Any store in particular? Thanks!!:)
Cruising Carol Posted July 10, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2007 Just returned on Saturday. For calendars, videos, etc. the Skagway Outlet Store (at the far end of Broadway from the ships) had great prices. At the east end of Creek Street, near Steadman Bridge, there is a "Made in Alaska" store that had nice selections and reasonable prices.
Krazy Kruizers Posted July 10, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 10, 2007 The last few years Skagway has gotten quite a few of the Caribbean jewelry stores there and has moved away from a lot of the "local" stores that they used to have. Ketchikan has a lot more stores for buying authenic Alaskan made items.
Rare Keith1010 Posted July 10, 2007 #4 Share Posted July 10, 2007 We always thought there was a lot more to look at in Ketchikan in terms of stores. Keith
OnlyMe Posted July 10, 2007 #5 Share Posted July 10, 2007 We found lots more 'authentic articles in Ketchikan than Skagway that we were interested in and generally found it more 'enticing' to spend money:eek: :D :D
