Quinn Posted July 11, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 11, 2007 We've never sailed on Princess before and was wondering if anyone did this room service Lobster/steak dinner that is advertised on the website. Is it worth the money? We were thinking to do it on a formal night so that we wouldn't have to get dressed up - Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. Colo Cruiser Posted July 11, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 11, 2007 The Ultimate Balcony Dinner or UBD is fantastic, we have done it 3 times and would highly reccomend it. You can eat as fast or slow as you want, they bring the courses one at a time. :)
notentirelynormal Posted July 11, 2007 #4 Share Posted July 11, 2007 My mother, aunt and uncle will be in the same cabin. I was wondering if anyone knew if it is possible to get the UBD for 3?
jckvpa0 Posted July 11, 2007 #5 Share Posted July 11, 2007 The lobster for the UBD is a warm water lobster, does anyone know if this is the same type of lobster they have on the Crown in their specialty restaurants ?

jbrambach Posted July 11, 2007 #8 Share Posted July 11, 2007 What kind of cocktails are involved? And is it a bottle or a glass of champagne? Thanks:)
bhopal21 Posted July 11, 2007 #9 Share Posted July 11, 2007 What kind of cocktails are involved? And is it a bottle or a glass of champagne? Thanks:) You may have the cocktails of your choice. They will ask you ahead of time what cocktails you would like. The champagne is a split (half bottle) of Moet Chandon White Star per couple. We have hosted this dinner for as many as 8 persons on our balcony and it has been great every time. Mike:)

loge23 Posted July 11, 2007 #12 Share Posted July 11, 2007 Highly recommend - we're off soon on a Caribbean and plan one for formal night as well. One more little tip: We brought our own Champagne last time, so we asked for a very nice bottle of wine instead and they credited our half-bottle of Champagne for us to the wine. It was fun watching a "swat team" come and transform our balcony into a fine, and very romantic, restaurant.

Lynda90 Posted July 12, 2007 #14 Share Posted July 12, 2007 The UBD is something not to be missed. I would do it again in a heartbeat. You will meet with the room service supervisor the day before the dinner and go over every detail. There are a few entree choices and if none is to your liking, you can change it to something else. You will start with cocktails and appetizers. A photographer will come by and take pictures and you will get to select one that is included in the UBD package. A beautiful floral arrangement is also included. We had 9 in our group. Since we did not have a cabin large enough to accommodate everyone, they set us up in another area. We had our dinner on the second formal night and did dress for it. It was very elegant with all of us dressed up and made for some beautiful photos of all of us together and individually. Colo Cruiser Posted July 12, 2007 #15 Share Posted July 12, 2007 How do you reserve this service and is it available on all Princess ships? Call the D.I.N.E line from your cabin phone after boarding and make the res for the day of the cruise that you want. They only do a few each evening so if you know when you want to do it book early. :)
Colo Cruiser Posted July 12, 2007 #16 Share Posted July 12, 2007 What kind of cocktails are involved? And is it a bottle or a glass of champagne? Thanks:) 1 cocktails of your choice per person and the split of Champagne. I hate Champagne so we traded fo a bottle of Asti. :)
