cruisegran Posted July 17, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 17, 2007 Those of you who have cruised the German watersays -- any suggested towns/shops for shoes? The comfy ones, Birks, Finn, etc.... I'm prepared to leave my clothing behind if I find a shoe bargain!! Please & thanks! Cruisegran
AZPam Posted July 18, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 18, 2007 Not sure about Birks or Finns, but I came home with about 8 new pairs of some great Italian brand name shoes about 2 years ago! Less than half the price of what we see for those same brands here in Phoenix, so felt like we had hit the jackpot! We were on the Rhine for a Christmas market trip and found some great stores in all the towns by the markets. Seems like we kept going back to one certain store in each town, so must have been a well-known chain for Germany. Wish I could remember the name, but know I would recognize it again if I saw it. I would suggest leaving plenty of extra room in the suitcases! :)
Rare steamboats Posted July 18, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 18, 2007 cruisegran, You´ll find Birkenstock, Ecco or Joseph Seibel shoes in every shoe store in Germany and also in the big department stores (Kaufhof, Karstadt). There are some chains: Reno or Deichmann which are mainly selling their own brands. Roland is a big chain all over Germany with good prices selling all brands. On this website you can see all the brands Roland is selling http://www.roland-schuhe.de/Roland/roland_schuhe_fremdmarken.html This is the Deichmann website http://www.deichmann.com/website_en/deichmann_home_home.php?sid=a177713a0e5ff928d9ecb21af168caa7 (English) and Reno http://www.my-reno.com/index.php?id=1&L=1 steamboats
